Refreshments were then served

Home Ke club of Lexington
Grange T26 was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hunt
last Thursday afternoon. This
was the regular meeting and
Christmas party. A report from
Mrs. Florence McMillan was
heard concerning the box of
gifts taken to the State Hospit
al In Pendleton.- and a financial
report concerning the recent
turkey dinner was also heard.1
Gifts were given those having
birthdays during the last three
months. After this a Christmas
gift exchange was greatly en
joyed. The ladies voted to have
secret sisters for the coming
year, and names and dates were
drawn. Ref re s h m e n t s were
served to Mrs. Nora Turner, Mrs.
Pearl Scott of Heppner. Mrs. Km
ma Breshears, Mrs. Wilbur Stea
gall, Mrs. Florence McMillan,
Mrs. A. F. Majeske, Mrs. C. C
Jones, Mrs. Alonzo Henderson
and hostess. Mrs. Ed Hunt, all
of Lexington, and Mrs. Ella Bur
goyne, Mrs. Kenneth Smouse

Joint Installation Planned
Holly Rebekah Lodge met last
Thursday night at its hall in
Lexington starting with a pot
luck Christmas dinner. Follow
ing the meeting of the men and
women a gift exchange was en
joyed, and coffee was served.
During the meeting it was de
cided to do away with the pres
ident's coin "drill which takes
place each meeting, replacing It
with one a year and send the
money to the President's Fund.
It was announced that there
would be joint installation with
lone in January, preceded bv a
potluck dinner at the Lexington
hall. Cards to the Lexington
boys in the service were signed
bv both OddFellows and Rebek
ahs. A letter from the state sec
retary telling all Rebekah lodg
es that they must charge a min
imum of $5.00 a year for dues
was read, this means that all
dues to Holly Lodge will be
$5.00, starting January 1.
Mrs. Bob Davidson and son
Herb were Pendleton visitors
one day this week.
Miss Leora VanWinkle Is vis
iting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
William J. VanWinkle from her
school at Blue Mountain Col
lege. The Amicitia Club met for its
Christmas party at the home of
Mrs. Roger Campbell on Wed
nesday of last week. There was
an exchange of gifts. The fol
lowing ladies won prizes, Mrs.
Bob Lovgren, high; Mrs. Wm.
J. VanWinkle, low; Mrs. O. W,
CuLsforth and Mrs. Roy Martin,
door prizes. Besides those win
ning prizes, those present were
Mrs. Al Fetsch, Mrs. Bob David
son, Mrs. Gene Cole and the
hostess, Mrs. Campbell.

Winkle have arrived at their
new home In Fort Ord, Califor
nia, where Donald is receiving
