Attorney Discusses Importance of Wills At Mothers' Meeting Regular meetings of the Hep pner Mothers club resumed Monday evening when Mrs. Her man Winter entertained mem bers and guests. Assisting the hostess was Mrs. Everett Struck meier. Guest of the evening were Mrs. Eugene Winters and Mrs. Al Boschee. During the business meeting, rpnorta were heard on DrolectS . which the club had carried on during the summer. The hospital committee had been active In remembering hospital patients with favors. Further hospital and library projects, with which the club Is most closely assoc iated, were discussed. Printed year books have been delivered to members by Mrs. Bob Henry, program chairman. Attorney Winters presented the program of the evening, a talk on the legal aspects of "Wills" and their place of im portance in the family program. Refreshments and social hour closed the meeting. . Reception Delights Couple On Golden Anniversary Legion, Auxiliary Leaders Represent Units in La Grande Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamlin and Mr. and Mrs. Riley Munkers attended a District 6 American Legion and Auxiliary confer ence, held in La Grande recent ly. Mrs. Hamlin is the district Auxiliary president. Twelve of the 15 units in the district were represented with over 100 persons attending the conference and potluck supper that was highlighted by the presence of six department heads, including Department Commander Jack Plate and Mrs. Colleen Goger, department pres ident. Mrs. Hamlin was pleased to report that District 6 is leading the state in district membership. Mrs. Corbin Honored With Shower Party On Tuesday evening, the Wagon Wheel lounge was the scene or a pinK ana Diue snower honoring Mrs- Kay Corbin, now of La Grande. Mrs. Denny Mc Millan and Betty Sorenson were the co-hostesses. The occasion was motivated by the hostesses while Mrs. Cor bin, along with her husband, was spending a two-week va cation here visiting friends and relatives. Corbin is a member of the Oregon State Police. Thirty-one guests were on hand for the pleasant evening of games and refreshments prepar ed by Mrs. McMillan. Mr. end Mrs. Andy Van Schol- eck and family are now at home at 3C6 Laird St., Hermlston, where they moved over the past week-end. The children are now enrolled in the Hermlston schools. Club Meets Saturday A meeting of the OES Social club of Ruth Chapter No. 32, has been announced for Saturday, October 9, starting at 2 p.m. in the Masonic hall. Mrs. Marjorie Worden will serve as hostess for the afternoon card play,with all regular members urged to be present. A half-century of marriage was climaxed Sunday. Septem ber 19. for Mr. and Mrs. Norman Florence when they observed their 50th wedding anniversary in the familiar surroundings of Iheir family home on Willow Creek. At an open house reception, arranged and given by their children, they received greetings and congratulations from about 130 friends and relatives on the same date that they had repeat ed their marriage vows .V) years ago. Their home, a place ol family tradition, was the birth place and life-long home of Mr. Florence, wnose paxems m early Morrow county pioneers. Mrs. Gentry, now Mrs. Walter Rood of Elgin, was present as a special guest for the reception. Other special out-w-wn guests included their grandson and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Florence of Eugene; Mrs. Jessie Kinney, Eugene, Mrs. James Lane, Portland; Mrs. Bertha Sherman, West Linn; Mrs. Bill Hinton, Ukiah; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gammell, brother and sister-in-law of Mrs. Florence, of Adams; Mrs. Lee McRoberts, her niece, and children Timmie and Sherie of Kennewick, Wn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Clouston. Table and other decorations carried out the traditional gold and white color scheme. The beautiful, three-tiered annivers ary cake was a focal point of the serving table. Decorating the tiered layers were gold rosebuds and leaves, topped with a gold numeral "50" surrounded by gold lace. Accent colors of pale pink and green were carried out in a pink rosebud centerpiece holding lighted tapers, and by the lime punch in a gold bowl. Lodge Makes Plans For Official Visit Of State President Sans Soucl Rebekah Lodge No. 33 resumed their fall meet ings September 17. Plans were discussed for the official visit ation of Mrs. Hazel Walnscott, Pendleton. president of the Rebekah Assembly of Oregon, on October 14. Her visit will be preceded by a no-host banquet at the Hotel Dining room for all members, starting at 6:30 p.m. Those members who have had birthdays during the past three months were honored during the September meeting.
