Scot land, and from there to Holy Loch. Mrs. Dan Hill and Mrs. Leon LeBlanc spent last Wednesday and Thursday in Portland where thev attended an Antique Show at the coliseum. The ladies stay ed overnight with Mr. Hill's son In law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Koch and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gomez and family. Arlington, were week end guests of Charles Hines. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith and Mike have returned to Irri- gon alter a months tour of Mr. and Mrs. George Russell and son George of Waldport. are spending the summer in Irrigon at the home of his folks. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zehner and Melodie vacationed along the coastal route into northern California. They toured the cheese factories at Tillamook I and Mrs. Rces Morgan Dr. Dodson of Portland ad dressed the congregation of the Irrigon Baptist church Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Bart- lett. Cindv and Steve of Seattle visited at the home of her folks. Mavor and Mrs. Chester Wilson and family over the week-end. Cindv and Steve remained with the Wilsons, and Bartletts. ac companied by Mr. and Mrs. Jean I .nut ha n. Hermiston. flew to Juneau. Alaska, where they will visit Mrs. Bartlett's uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Fager- strom and family and hunt visited relatives at Coos Bay and moose, goats, deer, other wild Estacada and drove on to life and fish. northern California via the Red wood highway. They also visited the Sea Lion Caves. Funeral for Mrs. Ina Thew was Wednesday, August 4, at Burns Mortuary in Hermiston, with Rev. John H. Kenney of ficiating. Following the funeral a luncheon was prepared for Mr. Thew and relatives by Mrs. Alton Gasser, Mrs. Bill Leslie and Mrs. George Anderson. Mrs. Felix Friend and Judy spent a month at Lake Charles, La., visiting Mrs. Friend's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Soileau and other relatives. -Barbara Davis, who is em ployed at Pendleton, spent a week's vacation with her folks, "Mr. and Mrs. Roy Davis and family. - The Hermiston Assembly of God quiz team, which has swept honors at the State and Region al level, will be at the Irrigon Assembly of God church Wed nesday evening, August 18, 7:30 p.m., to give a demonstration of the manner in which the quiz contests are conducted. They will be answering questions con tained in the Gospel of SL Mark, and will be accompanied by their leader, Miss Bonnie Wile man. The public is invited to attend. Mrs. Myrtle Markham, Sheryl Partlow, Mrs. Gene Berg and Ronald accompanied Mrs. James Mills, Ricky, Randy and Steve of Hermiston, to Portland Fri day. They visited Jantzen Beach Mr. and Mrs. Earl Isom and Donna pulled their vacation trailer house to the Lostine Mountains and spent eight days camping and fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Isom and Donna drove to Winchester Bay where they went deep-sea fish ing along with Mrs. Isom's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leach of Drain. Isoms spent one night In Salem with his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cork. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pummel, Crishara and Serene of Salem, were Saturday overnight guests of his brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Aber crombie and family returned to Irrigon Thursday from a month trip to Dansville, New iork. where they visited her mother, Mrs. Arthur Kiefer and other relatives. Thev visited his broth er. Ralph Abercrombie and fam ily at Centervllle, Utah, and toured the Craters of the Moon In Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Stewart, Sharon and Tom, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Abell and family, McNary, spent Sun day at Lehman Springs. Lexington News (Held over from last week) Mr. and Mrs. Chas. C Jones were Portland visitors last Thursday. While there they at tended the open house of Trans cription Bureau of the Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co. There were about 500 guests present for the afternoon tour. Charlene Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jones, who is employ ed in the drafting department section of the transcription de partment, served as a hostess for the afternoon. Visitors at the Kenneth Marsh all home last week were Mr. and Mrs, G. A. Marshall of Al bany. Mrs. Vern Vlall entertained with a birthday party for her daughter, Margaret, on her fifth birthday. Those present were Jay and Lynn Dee Devln, Kenny Craig and Tammie Howard of Heppner, Scot tand Greg and Harry Groshens, Bonnie Kay Herman, Curtis VialL All en joyed a swimming hour at the lone swimming pool. Others present were Mrs. Oliver Devin, Mrs. Kenneth Howard and Mrs. Vic Groshens. Refreshments in keeping with a girl's birthday were served. Truckers' Annual Meeting Slated The fourth annual convention and annual meeting of the For est ir Product Trucker. Inc.. an association of Independent log truckers serving Eastern Oregon, will concern Itself with a study of the certification law, log hauling rates and election of officers Saturday. August 21, in Pendleton beginning with registration at 9 30 a.m. in Gun ther's Fireside Restaurant meet ing room. Practice for Fair The Two Trackers 4 H horse club met at the rodeo grounds on Sunday, August 1, at 5 p.m. Members brought their horses. We practiced horsemanship and showmanship for the fair.
