Mr. Linn will fly home to Vcrnonia from Pittsburg after the cross country trip by car. I remember when you bought eggs at the store you expected a few rotten ones to show up fre quently. I remember when eggs were sold In a sack rather than a carton and they were picked out of a basket of straw In the store. . . . I remember when any food stuffs became frozen they wero thrown away because they were considered spoiled. I remember buying 25 cents' worth of ham burger and asking the butcher, "Mom Bays to throw In a soup bone." , , , I remember buying milk In a svruo bucket before there was pasteurization, ami iouk uviu.c homogenlzed milk was even thought of by dairies. I remember when It was con sidered the height of luxury to buy bread from a bakery at 10 cents a loaf. I remember when all our fruit came In packages as dried fruit, and a pocketful of dried prunes, apricots, apples or peaches was a great treat. I remember when we bought sugar and flour In 100-pound bags and didn't know It came In smaller sizes. I remember storing hams and bacon In flax bins to keep them longer, and I remember gather ing around the Iceman to catch the chips irom nis ice picit on u hot summer day. These things I remember since they all happened in the last 30 years, which goes to show what Improvements have been made in this nation in three decades. In most nations of the world, people don't have to remember such things. They arc still in vogue. KEEP ORISON GREEN Everybody Out For The Great mm MM y IV-;.' --V l '1 w Vv;''-;;-. I lsissj(SfcJ' .
