The Gaiette-Tlmca. all Frank Hamlin, former owner of Barratt Sales Company, an nounced Monday that he has completed a deal to take over operation of Aiken's Sport Shop. He applied for beer license ap proval from tho city council, which was granted. It must also be approved by the State of Oregon. The Hamlins formerly oper ated the tavern and sport shop for several years. Herb and May Kkstrom found many old friends amone th-? tourists folks they had met at different sales and Hereford Lathering around the west and southwest. When the tour arrived at the F.kMrom place at lone. Herb In traduced his family, Mr. and Mrs Herb Kkstrom Jr. .and children; son Roland, and others, and call ed upon his wife to tell about their system of keeping records and their rattle. Mrs. Kkstrom discussed Perfor mance Registry International, of which they are members. Prominent at the Ekstrom ranch was their famous polled Hereford bull. Prince Huske-. who as a calf was champion of the Columbia Kmpire polled show and whose sire was a grand old bull. Huskcr Mischief, bought by the Ekstroms In the early 50j, In the midwest. This strain hasj been the solid foundation of their ranch operation. The Lkstroms showed their polled and horned herds and yearling heifers In the hour- long stop there before IS'cumeyer called the party together to take off towards Yakima. Pop, coffee, rolls and pastries were set up in abundance on tables in the L'kstrom barn for the guests, who couldn't help but be well-fed on this tour. Mr. and Mrs. Ekstrom Joined the tour after the visiting at their ranch, going on up to Car nation, Wn., for the Carnation Farms sale. Robinson and son Kyle also caught up with the touring party at Yakima and went on to the sale where he bought a bull.
