December 5. 19S3 Watts Family Feted At Boardman Farewell By MARY LEE MARLOW BOARDMAN About 50 persons attended tne iarewell potluck supper at the Greenfield Grange hall last week in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Watts, who left Saturday to move to Sandpolnt, Idaho, to make their home. They lived here the past ten years. Present from out of town was their daughter, Mrs. Chet Eth eridge of Spokane, Wn. Mrs. Claude Worden was In charge of the affair. Rev. and Mrs. Herman Burg and children Carolyn and Steven have returned from a five day's visit to Shelton, Wn., where Rev. Burg gave the address at the dedication of the new Skokomish Community church. The Burgs iormeny lived at Shelton before coming to Boardman. Holiday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sledge included Mrs. Sledge's brothers- in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs, Ted Nativadad and children Teddy and Christina of Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. oreg Brazer and children Jean nie, Steve and Jerry of Los Banos, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. John Peregoy and son Johnnie of Uklah, Calif.; and her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Anderson and daughter Diana of Condon. They were all dinner guests Thanksgiving Day at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Anderson in Condon. Saturday guests at the Sledge home were Sledge's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Drager of Turner. Mrs. Russell Miller and daugh ter Pat, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baker and children Ron, Randy, Karen and Kristie spent the holi days in Corbett at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Partlow and children Jim, Mike, Ricky and Joan visited in Corvallis several days and attended the golden wedding anniversary of Mrs. Partlow's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schmidt, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church. Mr. and Mrs. George Schatz of Portland visited two days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rol lin Bishop. Evangeline McNeill of the Village Missions, Cannon Beach, and Mrs. Wendell Kress and daughter Sandra, and Mr, and Mrs. Lawrence Kress, all of Lew iston, Idaho. Also their son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs Ivan Kress and son Byran of ine Dalles, and the r sons-ln law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs, Delbert Robertson and son Kevin of College Place, Wn., and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Ball and daughters Barbara and Karen of Hermiston. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mallery and son Jim of Seattle, Wn, spent the holidays at the home of Mrs. Mallery s parents, Mr, and Mrs. Claud Coats. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Carpen ter and children Johnnie and Anna Marie of Seattle, Wn. spent the Thanksgiving holidays at the home of Carpenter s parents, Mr and Mrs. Delbert Carpenter. Eileen Ely, student at Judson Baptist College, Portland, spent the holidays at her home here, having as her guest, Sherry Thomas of Las Vegas, Nev. Other college students home for va cation were Dorothy Rash, Pa cific Business College at Port land, Jim Hoffman, Clark Col lege, Vancouver, Wn., Larry West, Portland State, and John nie Partlow, Richard Watts and Pat Partlow from EOC at La Grande. Beverly Donovan, who teaches school in Portland, spent the hol idays at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Don ovan. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Lewis of Ukiah, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pulley of Pendleton. Mrs. Florence Root spent Thanksgiving In Wasco at the home of her son and daughter- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Root. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely included their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lilly and children Jim, Janet, Jay, Jerry and Joyce of La Grande, and their grandchildren Renee and Ricky Ely of Hermiston. Bob Thornhill and daughter Tina spent Thanksgiving in Hood River at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Thornhill. Aria Thornhill is confined to her home with the mumps. RESOLUTION THIS MATTER coming on be fore the County Court sitting reg ularly for County business on this 6th day of November, 19M, and it appearing to the County Court for Morrow County that the said County Court now has the power to create by ordinance a curfew for minors pursuant to House Bill 1307 approved by the Governor of the State of Oregon on the 21st day of May, 1963, and filed in the office of the Secretary of State and becoming effective as a law of the State of Oregon on the 3rd day of September, 1963; and the County Court further finding that it is in the public Interest tor the preservation of the health, safety and morals of the citizens of Morrow County that an ord inance regulating the hours for minor children to be out and upon the public ways and streets of the County; and the County Court further finding that the ad mining counties in Oregon, to wit, Umatilla County, is now set' ting forth a similar ordinance corresponding in time and in age groups, and that the Counties of the State of Washington, to- wit, the Counties of Walla Walla, Franklin, and Benton, are also creating ordinances for curfew in the same manner and at the same time in conformity with Morrow County; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the County of Morrow does, by this XLsi!!d.?nt.?ai2s"L1?-. home were Mrs. Thornhill's brother and sister-in-law, Mr, home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Burg on her way home from Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Toiva Simila and seven children of Portland spent the holidays at the home of Mrs. Simila's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Skoubo. Curfew For Minors Regulations A. Definitions. The term "street" shall mean any alloy, thor oughfare, pathway, sidewalk or other place of travel open to the public. B. The term "highway" shall in clude any road, lane or other terminal or continuance of any roadway, open to the public. C. The term "public place" shall include, but not limited to, places of amusement and en tertainment, public building, parks, playgrounds, dance halls, vacant lots or other un supervised places. D. The term "narent nr Piiarriinn" shall mean the actual parent or legal guardian that has the care, custody or control of such minor. E. The hours of time specified In this chapter shall refer to the standard time prevailing in the County of Morrow from period to period, whether it be what is commonly accepted as Pacific Standard Time or Pacific Daylight Time. F. The masculine gender as used in this chapter shall include the feminine gender, and the singular shall include the plural. II. Hours Places Exceptions. It shall be unlawful for persons under the age of 18 to be upon any street, highway, park, alley, or other public place, between twelve o'clock a.m. (12:00 A.M.) and five o'clock a.m. (5:00 A.M.) on Friday and Saturday nights, and be tween eleven o'clock p.m. (11:00 P.M.) and five o'clock a.m. (5:00 A.M.) on any other night, except when accompan ied by his or her parent or legal guardian, or in proceed ing directly to or from his work in the regular course of employment, where such em ployment has been approved by competent authorities un der the procedure outlined by StatlltP. It is FURTHER ORDERED that the curfew hours and regula tions shall become effective as of midnight November 1, 1963: and It is FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk of Morrow County cause the said Ordinance, as set out above, to be published once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circu lation within the County.
