Earl Ayres Views
New 1964 Mercury
Flying weather was rough but
the new 1964 Mercury is smooth,
Earl Ayres, owner of Heppner
Auto Sales, reported upon his
return from Seattle Monday
where he attended the 1964
Lincoln-Mercury showing.
He left by plane Sunday and
was back home Monday nighf.
Ayres said the Mercury models
are particularly attractive, some
witrr new roof lines.
On the flight home from
Seattle the plane encountered a
lightning storm near Portland
and it was necessary to maintain
a holding pattern for 20 minutes
before it was felt safe to land
because of high winds. Shortly
after, however, he took off again
for Pendleton in another com
mercial plane.
Ayres made the trip alone from
here. The entire staffs of the
Heppner Auto Sales and Condon
Auto Sales, however, will attend
the new Ford showing in Seattle
on September 17 and 18.
