ing here visiting their father,

Miss Ruth Rogers of Pendle
ton spent her vacation here at
the ranch home of her sister,
Mrs. Lelia Thompson.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Martin and
four children of Prineville visited
his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Martin, recently.
Thelma Williams and her sis
ter, Mrs. Willard Jennings and
children returned home Thurs
day after visiting their folks in
Jerome, Ida., a week.
Rev. and Mrs. Verne Wiese of
Pendleton drove over and held
Sunday evening services here.
Mr. and Mrs. Ansil Martin and
two sons of Prineville spent the
week-end here visiting with rel
atives and friends including the
Johnsons, Nolands and Martins.
Mrs. J. E. Scott and son Robin
and Miss Dianne Hutchison
drove to Pendleton Tuesday to
visit Mrs. June Hutchison in the
St. Anthony hospital.

have moved into the Slocum
house for the school year.

their nephew, Robert Dale Scott
with them from here.

the Lonerock district Sunday
evening. Several went from
Hardman to help fight it. Among

Miss Linda Andrus of Portland
is visiting her grandparents, Mr,
and Mrs. H. C. Lesley. Mr. Les
ley met her at Arlington on Fri
day.
Mrs. Maxine Mahon and child
ren of Elgin came Wednesday
evening to visit her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Sam McDanlel over
night. Bob Mahon stayed for a
longer visit with his grandpar

Greenfield Grange held a picnic
Sunday afternoon at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Briggs with
24 present. Present from out of
town were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde
Tannehill of La Grande and Mr.
and Mrs. Nathan Thorpe of
Hermiston. Guests included Mr.
and Mrs. A. R. Fortner, W. G.
Seehafer, Mrs. Rollin Bishop,
Dewena West and Eva La
Chance, the latter also of La
Grande.
Mr. and Mrs. Claud Worden
and Glenda Williams went to
Payette, Idaho over the week-end
to visit at the home of their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Dallas Forthman.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tatone spent
the week-end in La Grande
where Tatone participated in the
annual Elks Golf Tournament.
Linda and Jody Tatone spent
last week visiting relatives in
Portland.

LEXINGTON The Lexington
Christian church will have a pot
luck dinner following church ser
vices Sunday, August 25, in hon
or of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen
Doaks, former Lexington resi
dents. Mr. and Mrs. Doaks now
live in Green Acres, near Spo
kane, Wn. Mr. Doaks taught in
the Lexington schools in 1916
and 1917 and served as Sunday
school superintendent and in
other offices in the Lexington
church.
Everyone is extended an in
vitation to attend the dinner.
Morris McCarl was taken by
ambulance to Pioneer Memorial
hospital Sunday morning from
injuries received while working
out his horse.
Friends of Clarence Buchanan
are sorry to hear of his accident
on Sunday. He was taken to St.
Anthony's hospital in Pendle
ton where he underwent major
surgery.
Mrs. Patricia Darnielle and
daughter Karen of Portland were
visitors one day last week at
the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. New't O'Harra. Karen
remained for a weeks visit with
her grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hunt spent
the week-end in Spokane with
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Majeske
returned on Thursday from a
two weeks trip which took them
to Yellowstone Park and way
points.
