Sunday school will be at the regular 9:45 a.m. time. In the event of rain, all services will be held in the church. Rev. Paul Ashbrook of Rich land, Wn., will fill the pulpit at the 11 a.m. Easter services. He was former minister of the Methodist church in Pasco, Wn. At the present time he is on leave of absence and is manager of employee's relations for Han ford Laboratories at General Electric atomic products oper ations employing about 16 persons. Calendar of Events: April 17 Arnica Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Gene Rietmann at 2 p-m., with Mrs. Glenn Biehl as co-hostess. April 21 Annual spring meet ing of the lone Community church. There will be a pot luck dinner first and the meet ing will follow. April 21 The lone PTA will sponsor a movie, "Cheaper by the Dozen." Movie starts at 5 p.m. at the school cafetor ium. April 19 Home Ec. will meet at the home of Mrs. Lewis Halv orsen with Mrs. Hershal Town send as co-hostess. Ladies are to brinq salad or dessert The lone Community church va cation church school will be from June 10-14. Hours will be from 9 un. to 1:30 p.m. There is a need for more teachers and assistants. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Marick and Gordon Nichols of Condon were week-end visitors at the William Nichols home in lone. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Ball of Burns were week-end guests of tneir parents in lone and Hepp-ner. Phone 989-8422 Women's Fellowship to Organize A meeting was neio. Monday, April 8, to discuss the formation of a Women's ' Fellowship for the lone Community church. Ways were discussed for women to help in church affairs, "ihey decided to organize and include all women who are members of the church or Maranathas or those who have shown an in terest in the church. No definite organizational plans will be made until after May 7 when a caravan of state leaders of the Women's Fellowship of the United Church of Christ will meet in lone. The meeting will start at 10:00 a.m. to help with plans for the coming year. The lone Rainbow girls at tended the lone Community church Sunday, April 7, as a group. Mr. and Mrs. Hershal Town send and Mrs. Harvey Smith journeyed to Portland Thursday April 4. They returned home bat urday, April 6. Miss Sue Townsend went to Pilot Rock Wednesday, April 3 to stay with her sister, Mrs. Brenda Kay Portschy, who has been ill. Sue returned home Sun day, April 7. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Crabtree mo tored to Condon Monday, to get their daughter, Mrs. Bill Gel inas, then Mrs. Gelinas and her sister, Carolyn McCabe, went to Pendleton to get their grand mother, Mrs. Blanche Scheelar. They brought her back to lone and then on to Condon where she and a grandson, Ashley Mc Cabe, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gelinas. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Christoph erson of Donald, have been visit ing with their children, the Ern est and Vernon Christopherson families, with their grandchild ren, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Aldrich, and their great-grandchildren, Arlynda and Arleta Aldrich, since Wednesday, April 3. They returned to their home Thurs day, April 11. Mrs. Ernest Christopherson of lone spent the past week in Salt Lake City, Utah, visiting her daughter who attends L.D.S. Lexington News By DELPHA JONES LEXINGTON Mr. and Mrs. Harry Green and daughter Betty Fpye entertained guests at a special week-end get-together, climaxed last unday by a fish fry dinner. The occasion was in honor of Jack Ferguson, uncle of Mrs. Betty Orwick, who was visiting here from Gunnison, Colo. Coming from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. Eon Oscarson and family of Newport, Wn.; Mr. and Mrs. David Rust, their daughter and granddaughter of Kenne wick, Wn; and Mr. and Mrs. Claire Marvel, The Dalles. From Lexington were Mrs. Betty Or wick, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pap ineau and family, Roy Kohns, Jim Richards, Kenneth and Floyd Green. Mr. Ferguson re turned to his home in Colorado, leaving Sunday evening.
