North Morrow Ag Exhibit Fair Set Next Week By MARY LEE MARLOW BOARDMAN Dates for the North Morrow Agricultural Ex hibit (formerly the North Morrow Fair) will be September 6-8. All exhibits must be entered and in place not later than 6 p. m. Sep tember 6, poultry and livestocK included. All feed will be fur nished by the exhibitor. All ex hibitors must be a resident of Morrow county. Judging of FFA entries will start at -8 a. m. September 7. There will be a parade the morn ing of September 8, starting at 10 a. m. from the school house. There will be prizes given for the best floats, and a novelty prize. Theme for floats is "Songs." Willard Baker is parade chair man. Premium lists may be obtained from Zearl Gillespie, superinten dent. Andrew Skiles, Irrigon, Is assistant superintendent. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Armstrong and son Gary of Van Nuys, Calif, visited last week at the home of Mrs. Armstrong's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ba ker. Mark Jeldness, Salem, visited last week at the home of his un cle and aunt, Mr- and Mrs. Har old Rash. Mr. and Mrs. Rash and daughters Dorothy and Diane re turned home last week from a trip to Seaside and Rainier, where they attended a reunion of the Trotter family. There were 55 present at the affair. Mrs. Jim Sullivan and daugh ter Deana of San Jose, Calif, vis ited for ten days at the home of her mother, Mrs. Zoe Billings. Mrs. Billings and daughter Bren da took them as far as Portland, where they took a plane. Little Joyce Lilly, 17-month-olJ daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lilly of La Grande has visited the past week at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely. The Ely's and daughter Ei leen attended a reunion of the Chandler family recently at Ben son State Park, where there were about 60 in attendance. Eileen Ely is spending the week at the North Falls Baptist Youth Camp at Silverton. She left Saturday with Rev. and Mrs. Ken Grafham and children Ken ny and Ruth, and Peggy SnooK of Baker, who were luncheon guests at the Ely home. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Myron McKinnis and children Linda, Maria and Frankie, and Renee Ricky and Rena Ely, all of Herm iston. Dorothy Rash was taken to the Umatilla hospital Saturday suf fering from a sever case of ton silitis. Mrs. W. G. Seehafer returned home last Thursday from Enter prise, where she had been for six days caring for her daughter, Mrs. Ronald Tye, who was ill. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carpenter of Renton, Wash, visited at the home of Carpenter's parents, Mr and Mrs. Delbert Carpenter, over the week-end. Larry, Jr. returned home with them after visiting his grandparents for a week. Another visitor was Carpenter's sister, Ruby Veach of Wichifa, Kans. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Lehman of West Linn were week-end Wihlons Honored On Anniversary By DELPHA JONES LEXINGTON A group motored to Pendleton August 9 for dinner in honor of the anniversary of Mr and Mrs. Armin Wihlon. Making up the party were Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Cutsforth, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Wihlon. Guests last week at the Wihlon home were Mr. Wihlon's brother, Robert and family of Sacramento, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nordeen of Baker were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Newt O'Hara. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Halsey of Pilot Rock were week-end visitors at the Joe Yocom home. Dinner guests on Sunday were Mr and Mrs. Tom Wilson and son of Heppner. Mr. and Mrs. Newt Ohara were attending to business matters last week in Walla Walla and Pendleton. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Steagall returned recently from a va cation in Brookings and way points, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Warner, son Kenneth and his guest, and Mrs, Pearl Gilliam visited his pp rents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl War ner recently. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lacey of Walla Walla, Wn., were Sunday callers last week at the Cecil Jones home. A recent visitor at the Earl Wr.rner home was Bob Hecken of Corvallis. Deanne Hays who had been spending a few days with her grandparents, returned home with him.. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Vjall and children and Mr. and JVlrs. Mr. and Mrs. Ceceil Hamilton have returned home from a ten day trip to Tacoma, and Belling ham, Wash. At Tacoma they visited Hamilton's nieces, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Smith, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Merz. and at Bellingham thev visited their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Beebe. Mrs. Bee be and daughter Staria returned home with them. Recovering From Illness Mrs. Claud Coats returned home last Friday from the Good hnepnerd hospital in Hermiston, where she was a patient ten days. She is still confined to bed at home. Visitors the past two weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl McQuaw were McQuaw s mother, Mrs. Jennie McQuaw, his nieces, Pat McQuaw and Sheran Clark, all of Portland, and Mrs. Mc- Quaw's nephew, David Nelson of Hillsboro. Mrs. Lowell Shattuck spent four days last week at the Can non Beach Bible Conference. Her son Martin returned home with her after spending the past four weeks there. Mrs. Glen Carpenter and neph ew, Darold LaChance left Sunday on a four day business trop to Tacoma, Wash. Mrs. Tom Hughes and children visited her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Stearns, Seattle, Wn. last week. They spent one day at the fair and enjoyed the harbor tour there. Mrs. Walter Cameron of Los Angeles, Calif, was an overnight visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marlow last Wednes day. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Klontz of Starbuck, Wash, visited over night Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rol Burg. They both spoke briefly at the Community church service Sunday night, and sang three duets.
