HERE IT is Tuesday again and
time to get going on the social
happenings about town. This
week things are rather hectic as
anyone can tell you, if they have
youngsters involved in the fair!
If your party or club news got
left out this week please be pa
tient and I'll get after it next
week. (If I live through the
week)!
ooo
JUNE HAS always been the tra
ditional bride and groom
month but from the number of
wedding showers and engage

September could run a good race
tor the title.

tables were Janina Johnson,
Doris Watkins, Gladys Beckett,
Beulah Mankin, and Hannah

SPEAKING OF showers and
weddings, the hostess flutters
around getting the house spic
and span (sounds like an ad)
and -wondering what to serve?
Joan Hughes solved the serving
problem when mother Mary
Benge, made a cheese cake. Joan
says they take hours to make
and are rich, but, oh, so good.
Mary, could I use your recipe
in the column.
Then as to weddings, mother
is asking herself, "what will I
wear? I must get to shopping!"
Martha Barak called me on
her daughter's wedding, laughed
and said if she didn't eet to
it she would appear at the wed
I ding in burlap and beads! Just
a lew of the behind-the-scenes
activities amid the hustle and
bustle and excitement. I can
hardly wait!
ooo
SUNDAY AFTERNOON the Elks
duplicate bridge unit party
met at the grade school multi
ourpose room for master point
play, bix tables were in play
with Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ed
miston, Hermiston, winning high.
W. A. Saltmarsh and P. B. Ek
strom, both of Walla Walla, were
second. Terry and Karen Thomp
son were third high for the after
noon. ooo
JUDY AND Robin Nyman were
honored with a joint going
away party for them at the Roice
Fulleton home August 4. Host
esses were Ruby and Becky
Fulleton who entertained friends
of the two girls with games and
refreshments. The two girls left
for their new home in New York.

ORA EVANS told me she got a
note from her grandparents,
Judy and Robin Nyman, and said
they were having quite a time
seeing everything and going
here and there. They had been
to the Waldorf-Astoria and
Robin wrote that she was send-
