At least that's the opinion of the coaches and other so-called experts who have gone over the State and Metro 27-man rosters with a fine tooth comb, seeking to forecast a winner in the 15th renewal of the colorful classic August 11 in Multnomah sta dium, Portland. It is generally agreed that the Staters, under Head Coach Roy Thompson of Roseburg, will be able to move on the ground or in the air and that their defense will be tough to dent. State hasn't been in the win column since its 7 to 6 victory in 1956, although it did snap Metros' winning streak with last year's thrilling 19 to 19 tie. The rival squads reported July 29 in Portland for two weeks of Intensive drills.
