Thursday, July 12, 1962 Boardman Council Works Towards Codification By MARY LEE MARLOW BOARDMAN The Boardman city council approved an appli cation for a package store Class B license presented by Wiley J. Brimmer at the regular monthly meeting last week. Mayor Joe Tatone stated he had contacted MarK wesuing, planning and public works con sultant of the Bureau of Munici pal Research of Eugene, about codification work, and that west ling would not be able to put anyone to work on it until the middle of July. Councilmen were asked to bring new nominees to the next meet me to replace Rav Conycrs, who resigned due to moving away from Boardman. The next meeting of the coun cil will be Aueust 6 at 7 p.m. P. O. Gets Second Class Rating Mrs. Flossie Coats, postmaster, has announced that the local post office is now a second class office as of July 1. This was due to a large influx of advertising mail going through the office the past year. The post office nas been third class .since Mrs. Coats became nosl master in Jan uary, 1954, and for several years prior to that. Baker Rites Held July 1 Funeral services were held at Burns Mortuary In Hermiston last Friday for Adaline Gent Baker, 67, who died July 1 in Pomona, Calif. Pallbearers were Vernon Rus sell, Ralph Skoubo, Ronald Black, Franklin Ball, Delbert Ball and Delmer Hug. Mrs. Wayne Kuhn and Mrs. Ronald Black sang duets, accom panied by Mrs. Albert Part low, Irrigon. Burial was in Boardman River view cemetery.
