I BELIEVE everyone is too busy
with school activities and all
of the busy going's on near the
end of the school year to play
cards or do any entertaining,
soooo, not much in the social
way this week. Many of the
clubs will discontinue until fall.

LETA HUMPHREYS entertained
the Bookworms last Tuesday
with a film showing of her color
ed slides taken on a tour of
Greece, Cairo, and Istanbul. She
will show more of her films, this
time on Italy, at the next Book
worms' meeting May 22 at her
home. Elsie Cole was hostess for
the evening with members pre
sent, Virginia Turner, Lucy Peter
son, Madge Thomson, Florence
Green, Ella Smith, and Agnes
Flug.

Mothers Attend Pasco
College Spring Tea

were among the guests at Pasco
Junior College, Pasco, Wn,
Thursday, May 10, for the an
nual Mother's Tea and Style
Review.
The special affair, sponsored
each year by the Associated
Women Students, was held in
the lounge of the college admin
istration building. One of the
models for the style show was
Miss Carole Ann Anderson,
daughter of Mrs. Anderson, and
a freshman in the school of
nursing. Carole Ann has also
served as secretary this past year
of the associated women stu
dent's organization.

son. Her daughter, Miss Judy

Tones," a campus vocal group,
which presented two selections
during the afternoon program

NO RECIPE this week except one
I invented last night. Have you
ever tried adding to the prepared
cake mixes? I have on several
occasions. I had about two cups
of applesauce left over from a
meal and decided to add it to
a snice cake mix for an impro
vised applesauce cake. Well, no
spice cake, so I used a chocolate
malt mix, added a dash of soda,
and a pinch of cloves, ginger,
anrl nutmez. (Didn't have any
cinnamon!) Anyhow, I mixed it
with two eggs and baked for 35
minutes in a 9x13 cake pan in
a 350 degree oven. Turned out
very moist and tasty and gone
in one meal! Use a cake mix
and your imagination for sur
prising results. How about an
idea from you?
Visiting the Fred Gimbels last
week was Mrs. Gimbel's father,
Cecil Letts, Los Angeles. He had
been to the World's Fair and
stopped for a visit on his way
home, leaving Sunday.

the Masonic hall.
Kathy Rea, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Clell Rea of lone, was
seated as Worthy Advisor and
escorted to the altar by her
brother, Francis. Her small
nephew, LeRoy Rea, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Keith Rea, placed the
crown upon her head.
