DUPLICATE BRIDGE at the Elks

THE RECIPE comes to me this
week from Oma Cox and is a
tasty peach pie.
Southern Belle Peach Pie
2 cans canned cling peach halves
y4 cup butter or margarine
13 cup sugar
1 T flour
23 cup dark corn syrup
y4 t salt
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
cup chopped walnuts
sinpie nie crust nastrv
Drain Deaches. cream butter
with sugar and flour, blend in
corn svruo. salt, lightly beaten
eggs and vanilla. Arrange
ntaphps in Dastrv-lined pie pan
pour egg-mixture over peaches
and sprinkle nuts on top. bukc
at 425 degrees for 15 minutes,
reduce heat to 375 and bake 30
minutes longer, until center is
set.
Decorate with whipped cream,
peach slices, and walnut halves
if desired. Serves 6 or 8.

ding reception in Portland April
21 for Mr. and Mrs. Les Carr at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Hyle. Mrs. Carr is the former
Martha Buschke Brown.
The couple was married April
20 in Westport, Wn and will
live in Roseburg. Carr owns a
cleaning establishment and coin
operated cleaning business
there. Mrs. Carr is employed with
the U. S. National Bank in Rose
burg. Mr. and Mrs. Piper Karl, Pen
dleton, also attended the reception.
