Ralph Harry, grain di vision chief, state department of agriculture. Harry says the grain trade is experimenting with mixing confetti with grain to stop in creasing thefts. The confetti earmarks the grain as stolen and is next to impossible for a rustler to remove. Now the grain trade wants to go a step further and, in in effect, brand the confetti. The trade is considering use of a registered number on the confetti. This is much the same idea cattlemen use in branding their animals to prove ownership. The industry has asked Harry to explore if the depart ment or some other state agen cy could register confetti num bers. The department's legal counsel, Don Parker, believes the industry would need spec ial legislation for this purpose.
