Rhea Creek HEC, Grange hall. lone Extension Unit Meets For Luncheon Mrs. i.eland McKinney was hostess to the lone Extension Unit meeting last Thursday, with Mrs. Joe Hausler as co-hostess. A lunch based on cheese cook ery was served by the hostesses, in keeping with the lesson sub ject for the day. Ten members were present to enjoy the meal and take part in the meeting. During the business meeting, it was decided to charge 75c per person at all meetings where dinner is involved, ana eacn member donate 10c for extra expenses at the other meetings. U you missed this week you may still get in next week with the start ing time at 7:30. ooo THOSE FRIDAY afternoon pin ochle players met at the home of Hannah Anderson on Friday with Mary Harris winning high. Beulah Mankin and Doris Wat kins won the pinochle and Car rie Beckett won low. Others making up the two tables were Janina Johnson. Gladys Beckett, Pearl Wright, and Hannah. Mary said that being high two days in a row was just too good, she's sure old "lady luck" won't last! ooo I HEAR there's a feud going on in town, a bridge-type rued, that is ! ! It all got started when one of the gals says, "We can beat you in bridge." Soooo, every, now and then the four of them fret together for a round and they tell me they are about even as of last Saturday. Wonder who's playing? Well, it is Kay Robinson and Gwen Healy versus Bebe Munkers and Lillian Sweek, you might say the north against the south! ! ooo I HAPPENED to be in Heppner Hardware on Monday visiting with Etta Parker and witnessed a very nice surprise for her birth day, and she was surprised! I know it left Etta quite speechless for a moment as the ladies all walked in armed with cake and coffee pots. They gave her hand kerchief gifts and visited over cake and coffee.
