Contrary to some mis guided notions, seat belts offer great protection at moderate speeds. More than half of the accidents causing injury or death involve speeds of less than 40 miles per hour. Figures also show that three out of four traf fic deaths occur within 25 miles of home. Less than one per cent of all injury-producing accidents in volve fire or submersion. Anglers, Hunters Need '62 Licenses Oreeon hunters and fishermen are reminded by the game com mission that their 1961 licenses have run out If sportsmen in tend to be out hunting or fish ing at the beginning or tne year, 1962 licenses must be in their possession. There has been no change In the license fees for 1962, the commission said, $4.00 for an angling license, $4.00 for a hunt ing license or $7.00 for the com bination. Juvenile licenses If they do not Intend to hunt for big game remain the same at $2.00 per license. The salmon steelhead licence remains at $1.00, which ts in addition to a regular angling license. Affected most will be steel head anglers intending to fish through the holidays or water fowl hunters out on New Year's day for a bit of duck shooting. Varmint and predator hunters must also have new licenses It they Intend to be out after the first of the year. Hunting and fishing licenses may be purchased at any license dealer or at the game commis sion's Portland office.
