David, and Sharon Crabtre of lone and the youngster's horsea to the State Fair, where David received aec ond place on horsemaiwhlp and first place on showmanship. Sharon received a second place on both horsemanship and show manship. This was the first year for state competition 'or the two. They competed In the 4 II senior class of which there were 51 competing. David returned home with his parents, and Sharon re turned on Friday with her mo ther. Mrs. Leo Crabtree, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvln McCabe and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ray return ed home on Sunday after visit ing with their sons In The Dalles area. Farmer Resident Fosses Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bergstrom attended the funeral service held In Yakima on Thurs., Sept 17, for Holmes Holman. Mr. Hoi man was a former member of the lone community, in years passed. Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bergstrom were their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Art Bergstrom. Beverly, Patty and Jeff of Portland. Arnica club will be held Sept 20 at the home of Mrs. Marlon Palmer with Mrs. Lee Palmer as co-hostess. - The lone band will go to Pen dleton to participate in the West ward Ho parade. Mrs. Harvey Ring announced there will be no Home Econom ics meeting the 15th. It Is post- Doned until a later date, wmcn will be announced later. Mrs. Norman Nelson took her son Chuck to Walla Walla on Saturday for dental work and while there Kristin, her daugh ter, won a transistor radio in a drawing contest at one of the stores. Mr. and Mrs. Berl Akers and Bonnie went to Pasco on Sunday to attend a Shrine Came held there. At Rebekah lodge on Thursday evening It was reported that George Ely Is in poor health and that his brother Charles is confined to the hospital due to a recent fainting and falling spell.
