Janice and Dick Snider apent a few day at Rltter with grand parent. Mr. and Mr. George Snider. Their parent went after them. Mr. and Mr. Berl Aker and Bonnie vUlted In Portland and Salem during the weekend. They atayed with Mr. and Mr. Kenneth Aker and family In Portland and with Mr. and Mr. Francis Ely and son In Salem. They attended the atate fair while there. Mr. and Mr. Carl Cropp and Marvin and Bonnie of Smelter vllle, Ida., visited at the home of Mr. and Mi. Lewis Ball and with other relative during the week-end. Houseguest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nichols and family during the holiday week end included Mr. and Mrs. Har old Callahan and family of Eat onville. Wash. Among the week-end fisher men for steelhead on the Col umbia and the Deschutes river were Arnle Hedman, Gil Lujan, William Spohn, Joe Engleman and Jim Barnett. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Matthews and daughters returned on Mon day from an extended trip to Roseburg and to the coast. The boys were received with much acclaim as they per formed their many feats of dar ing. A large number of Ionlans visiting In Salem for the fair were on hand to see the boys and other former Ionlans were there also. Mr. and Mrs. llalvor sen and family stayed at the home of her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Boy Stender. Johnny Gaarsland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gaarsland was in Salem to see the fair on Satur day. Betty Johnson of the Jack Paar TV ahow flew In by Jet to perform at the afternoon show. She sang several songs and John ny was called upon tha stage by her to help her sln a song en titled "Honey." John received a hug and kiss by the beautiful Miss Johnson for his help. Garland Swanson.
