Field Day. wheat ranchers and
other observers sent the morn

ities. At a f-hort program following
lunch at the Harlandvlew
Grange Hall, representatives of
the Oregon Wheat Growers
League explained the program In
which a county winner is selec
ted each year In each Central
and Eastern Oregon' wheat
growing counties, and a .state
winner selected from the coun
ty winners.
Vernon Munkers was recently
named Morrow County Conser
vation Man of the Year for 1961
and he is currently In compe
tition for Oregon Conservation
Man of the Year. Announcement
on this, however, will not be
made until the annual Wheat
Growers' meeting In December.

the Row Wow of rockhound clubs

The P.levins left Saturday and
returned Sunday, but the Millers
remained for a longer period. The
Pow Wow was from July 1
through 5. Some 3000 were ex
pected, and interesting exhibits
were on display. "Tailgate
showings of rocks were partic
ularly interesting.
