Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cox were over for a week from Ize look ing after their place here and he did some salmon fishing. They returned to Izee Monday morning, for she will leave later In the week for points in Calif., to visit her brother and sisters. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Banta, daughter Mable, and son May nard, of Parma, Idaho cam In Thursday to visit her brother, Maynard Hamilton, then he went with them to Prlnevllle and Bend to visit some of Mr. Ban- ta's relatives, leaving Bend Sun day for their homes. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Matteson drove to Heppner Tuesday on business. Mrs. George Cappon drove to John Day Friday, to get Mr, George, taking him home from the hospital where he had been the past week. Mrs. Fred Shank spent Thurs day and Friday In John Day with her daughter, Mrs. Donna Santoe, who underwent surgery Thursday. The Gienger relatives have been taking turns sitting with Grandmother Jenny Gienger at the hospital In John Day, since March 20. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Howell and Bill drive to Heppner Tuesday for dental work. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Howeu drove to John Day and Heppner Monday on business. Mrs. Robert Croker drove to John Day Thursday on business. News just came In this morn ing that Ed Gienger passed away with a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hutchison and children of Kinzua spent Sunday in Monument. Mrs. Roberta Croker spent Fri day In Pendleton on business. Mrs. Stella McCarty has re ceived word that her son Virgil Reynold's boat has left Japan, headed for Long Beach, Calif ornia and other coastal points. A Stanley Party was held Fri day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Elmer Matteson.
