chance to build up their bodies
and provide an interest which
would keep them busy.
Members of IOOF Lodge No.
163 at Lexington donated the use
of their building which provides
ample room for the various ac-,
tivitles. Heat and light expenses
are met through a charge oi
25 cents per week for each par
ticipant and instruction is given
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
nights from 7 to 9 p.m.
The athletic club started in
a small way about one year
ago and can claim much credit
for the ability shown by star
football player Jim Stcagall on
the Hennncr 11 this fall and
Palmer on the lone state cham
pion 8-man team, both of whom
j have been attending the classes.
Of the approximate 3j males who
now are spending their even
ings in this pastime the ages
range from seven years to those
old enough that they don t want

Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Calhoun
have returned home after the
holidays spent In southern Ore
eon visiting friends and reia
tives.
Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Maleske re
turned home Thursday from an
extended trip to Los Angeles and
way places. They made the trip
with a daughter and family, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Mounts of Mau-
pin. While away they spent
Christmas with Mr. Mounts'
mother in Los Angeles, and vis
ited a friend of Mr. Majeske's
whom he had not seen since
leaving Germany many years
ago.
Gar Leyva flew via jet from
Seattle last week to Williams
town, Pa., where he took deliv
ery on a new plane which he
will bring home this week.
Mrs. Ida Chapman, mother of
Mrs. Gar Leyva, who has been
visiting here this winter, was
taken to Pioneer Memorial Hos
pital one night last week, but
