On last August 17. the Willow Gr.inj! pri-M-nted a program pre pared by the Grange Community Service committee at their an nual picnic. The Cringes have community projects each year and this year the Willow Grange had a marker made for the park at lone In memory of a past resi dent. Joseph A. Woolcry. Guest speaker for the after noon. Elmer McClure. Portland, master of the Oregon State Grange, gave some of the ser vice accomplishments of various grsngea over the state. Other numb'rs on the program were talks by Mayor Charles O'Connor. Elaine Rietmann. and O. L. Lundell. The lone school hand furnished the music. The main feature of the pro-e-am was the dedication of a memorial to a former cltlzjn of lone, Joseph A. Woolery. Mr. Woolcry was a prominent, civic minded man; a merchant, ware house manager, land owner and banker. ft the turn of the century. Mr. Woolery donated the land and planted the tre?s as a park to t.'i" City of lone. As the old deed to the property was either lost or destroyed ty fire, with the coop -ration of the city council, a new deed was obtained and recorded in the name of the City of lone. Mr. and Mrs. D.
