The campaign Is winding up
and it has been a pretty warm
one. As election day approaches
there will no doubt be numerous
efforts made to put over stories
and propaganda eleventh hour
stuff that can not be refuted
before the polls open. There are
always those who would do this,
hoping to win votes for their fa
vorite candidate or for them
selves. Our advice is to give no heed
to these last minute tales, rest
ing assured that had there been
anything to them In the first
place, they would have come to
light early in the campaign.

Pontiac announces the Trophy V-8 Engine
NEW PRECISION AND ECONOMY IN THE ENGINE ROOM OF THH '61 PONTIACI
A completely new fuel Induction system give
this new fre breathing V-8 more air ... to save
you gas. Closer calibration of this big 389-cubic-Inch
engine gives you maximum thrust at half
throtti without over-carbureting.
W made th ngin lighter; mounted it lower
for better balance. An oil refill now takes only
4 quarts. Tailor your Pontiac power plant to
your needs. There are 11 versions to choosa
from. Horsepowers range from 215 to 348. (For
best economy, specify the Trophy Economy V-8.
Its iower compression lets you use regular gas.)
If this sounds a bit technical, just try a new
Trophy engine soon. It's in all four Pontiac eris.
In one block, it will become clear why w'v
called this '61... all Pontiac!
