Four men entered arrangement in the -By Men Only- section. Sweepstake winners were: Mrs EB Akers with Mrs William Rawlins runner-up, In the adult division; Carol Rawlins, In the 8 to 12 year division and Anita Crawford. In the 4 to 7 division. Sweepstake entries were table setting "A Fall Dinner arranged by Mrs Norman Nelson and Mrs Don Peterson of the lone PTA: floor arrangement, "Ebb Tide", by Mrs Elbe Akers; horticulture specimen, "Pat and Dee" Dahlia entered by Mrs William Raw lins; and a child's arrangement, pink Pompon dahlias In a white lamb, by Carol Rawlins. The theme of the show was carried out on the stage, de picting an out-of-doors scene with an umbrella table and bench and a waterfall before a background of a stone wall and garden gate. Flamingos and many colorful flowers completed the picture. Plans were made for attending the District 6 conference at Hep- pner. Sept 23. Mrs G Hermann and Mrs Charles Doherty were appointed to set a table at the Flower Show September 25. The next meeting will be Oct 4 at the Legion hall with Mrs Charles Doherty and Mrs Ted Palmateer as co-hostess. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs Cieo Drake nd Mrs Eldon Tucker. Mrs Otto is a sister of Mr Brenner. Robert Akers, Russell Dolven, and Harold Rietmann, students at the Columbia Basin Junior College at Pasco, were visiting their parents over the weekend. They also attended the Leyva- Steagall wedding Saturday in Heppner and the Pettyjohn- Thompson wedding In lone Sunday. Mr and Mrs C E Brenner, Judy Eubanks, and Mr and Mrs Bill Ling spent the weekend at the Eubanks cabin in the mountains. Arnica Club met at the home of Mrs James Barnett Sept 21 with Mrs Richard McElIigott as co-hostess. Mrs Vester Hams was selected as a new member of the group. Games were played with Mrs Arnie Hedman and Mrs John Proudfoot winning high and Mrs Milton Morgan and Mrs Marlon Palmer receiving low. Mrs Delmer Crawford received was served they were entertain ed with a trip to the show.
