Attend Cities Meeting Those from here who attended the regional League of Oregon Cities meeting for city offic ials of Umatilla and Morrow counties at the Elks club in Pendleton Friday evening of last week were mayor and Mrs Charles O'Connor. Mr and Mrs Omar Rletmann, Mr and Mrs Bill Rletmann, Mr and Mrs Roy Llnd strom. Mr and Mrs Fredrick Mar tin. Mr and Mrs Robert DeSpain and Mrs Echo Palmateer. A ban quet was enjoyed before the meeting. Mayor Norman Gorfkle. of Pendleton was the toast master and the meeting was con ducted by Herman K e h r 1 1, Eugene, secretary of the League who also gave a talk. Others giving talks were Dick Ryan, field consultant of the League, mayor John Snider, Medford and nresldent of the league. The Couples Club, a Commun ity church organization, meeting was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Bill Rietmann Thurs day evening of last week. Meet ings will be held the 13th of each month at 8 p m. The next meeting will be May 13 at the Jack Barak home and the sub ject to be discussed is demo cratic candidates for president. Bible study will be each Thursday evening at the Com munity church parsonage at 7-30 p m. Everyone welcome. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. Miss May Johannson of Greive, Sweden was a house guest at the home of Carl Troedson and Mr and Mrs Howard Nottage last week. She is a relative of Carl and Mrs Nottage. She left Sun day for Pendleton where she will be employed in the St An thony's hospital. Mr and Mrs Franklin Lind strom gave a dinner Saturday evening in honor of Miss May Johannson of Greive. Sweden. Present were Miss Alta Phillips of Hermiston, Miss Lola Wilson, Mr and Mrs Howard Nottage, Carl Troedson, Johan Troedson and Koy wnusirom. A party was given in honor 1 of Mr and Mrs Donald Eubanks of Arlington Sunday alternoon at the home of Mr and Mrs C E Brenner. They were presented with a money tree. Mrs Gordon White was the co-hostess. Mrs James Barnett underwent surgery at Pioneer Memorial hospital last week. Paul Miller is a patient in The Dalles hospital. The group will meet for a joint installation with the Miriam Circle and the Mara natha club May 25 at the Com munity church with the Naomi Circle as the host and Rev Rod MacKenzie as installing officer.
