Kay Boll am. a former resident of lone, and now director of Women's activities and art dir ector for the Oregonian recently was named "Home Economist of Achievement for 10' in Eucene. She has been a staff member of the Oregonian since 1925. She has received many awards and honors among them were in 1951 "Alumna of the Year", Sigma Phi; in 1953 she was named "Woman of Achieve ment" for the year. Mrs Bollam Is a eraduate of Oregon Mate College. She Is the daughter of the late Rev and Mrs J L Jones and lived in lone for many years. She taught school in this com munity and also in Portland. Rev Jones was one of the first ministers to locate In lone. Mrs Bollam Is a sister of Miss Gwen dolen Jones of Portland and Mrs Earl Blake of Heppner.
