Copper Tooling Class
Very Well Attended
The Hoppner extension unit's
cooper tooling class was held
last Tuesday, November 10 at
the 4-H annex with a large
group of people taking part un
der the instruction of Mrs Riley
Munkers, Mrs Bill Heath, Mrs
Ray Drake and Mrs Gene Fer
guson. Those taking part in the class
were Mesdames Edna Turner,
Pete McMurtry, Joe Wright,
Frank Connor, Myron Rill, Har
old Becket, Lowell Gribble, Allen
Case, Ralph Richmond, Alex
Green, Doug Drake, Lee Scrivner,
Howard Pettyjohn, C R McDow
ell, Tom Wells, Art Watkins, W
W Weatherford and Miss Leta
Humphreys.
They each selected one of the
two pictures available and
learned step by step from the
tracing of the picture onto the
copper through the embossing
process, adding the picture, and
finally putting on the "dope"
to keep the copper from tar
nishing. For those who wish to make
the companion picture, the cop
per may be purchased at the
home extension office.
The next Heppner extension
meeting will also be an all day
meeting, starting at 10:30 a m,
i December 8 at the home of Mrs
Howard Pettyjohn, on the sub
ject of Holiday Breads. The pro
ject leaders will be Mrs Frank
Wilkinson, Mrs Keith Blake and
Mrs Pettyjohn, who will give
the demonstrations.

ious injury in a fall from a hay
stack at his home during the
hard wind storm here Wednes

to St. Anthony's hospital in Pen
dleton where it was determined
no bones were broken, and ex
cept for being bruised and sha
ken up, he had no serious in
juries. After remaining in the
hospital over night he returned
to his home Thursday.
