Entertains Rodeo
Court At Luncheon
Queen Sharon and the court
of the Morrow County rodeo,
their mothers and chaperon were
entertained at luncheon last
Thursday by the Soroptimist
Club of Heppner at the Wagon
Wheel.
The royal court, introduced by
Miss Leta Humphreys, was
queen Sharon Cutsforth of lone

iker; princesses and their moth
ers, Joan Moe and Mrs Elmer
Moe representing Rhea " Creek
Grange; Judy Cochell and Mrs

Partlow and Mrs John Partlow,
Boardman. Mrs Heliker is also
chaperon for the group.
Elaine Laird sang "Home On
The Range" and "Red River Val
ley," accompanied by Jeanne
Schmidt at the piano.
Slides of baby pictures of the
queen and princesses were
shown and also pictures of how
they look today.
Queen Sharon told of the ac
tivities the court has enjoyed
this sumer and group singing
was led by Mrs Conley Lanham.
The luncheon tables were dec
orated with cofrals, horses, cow-,
boys, Indians and summer flow
ers by Mrs Roice Fulleton and
Mrs E E Gonty.

evening at the C E McQuarrie
home for an Operation BITE
(Beaver Invitation to Education)
party.
A question and answer period
was held for prospective Oregon
State College students and to get
students interested in college in
general.
A few Pendleton outfits and
coats from Wilson's Men's Wear
were modeled by Janice Beamer
and Shirley Kononen, showing
styles to wear to classes, church
and casual wear.
There was a discussion on tu
ition fees, living accomodations,
classes, activities, how to regis
ter and many other items of in
terest to the prospective students.

Fruited Lime Ring uses fresh lime juice and rind for the fresh
est, coolest flavor of all; and fruit cocktail, ready-cut from a can,
supplies 5 colorful fruits. Bits of cream cheese are scattered
through the fruits for pleasant creamy contrast The delicious ring
may be filled with any fresh fruit of your choice strawberries
cantaloupe balls, sliced plums, crisp fresh grapes are all good. W ith
hot raisin muffins and an icy beverage this makes a wonderful lunch
or Sunday supper.
Fruited Lime Ring
Combine 2 envelopes plain gelatin, 2 teaspoons grated lime
rind and cup fresh lime juice and let stand until gelatin is
softened. Dissolve in 2 cups hot water Stir in 4 teaspoon salt
and Vi cup sugar. Drain a No. 2Mi can fruit cocktail, saving
syrup; stir 1 cup syrup into gelatin. Cool until slightly thickened.
Fold in well drained fruit cocktail, and 1 (3-ounce) package
cream cheese, cut into tiny cubes. Chill until firm in eVi-inch
ring mold. Unmold onto crisp salad greens, and fill center of
ring with fresh fruits.
Makes about 8 servings.
