The Three Links club of
Bunch-grass Rebekah lodge met
at the home of Mrs Wate Craw
ford Friday afternoon, June 26
with Mrs Arvilla Swanson as co
hostess. At the business meeting
conducted by Mrs Cecil Thome,
president, it was decided to have
a picnic in the city park this
summer, Mrs Thome, Mrs Ernest
Heliker and Mrs Harvey Ring
were appointed to select a date.
A card was sent to Mrs Hugh
Bell of Condon who is ill in the
Pioneer Memorial hospital. Mrs
David Rietmann received the
door prize.
Kelly Gabbert of Downing,
California; and Cynthia, Diana
and Ly Ann Meyer of Portland
are visiting at the Wallace Mat
thews home.
Mr and Mrs Ernest Heliker and
Mr and Mrs Donald Heliker went
on a fishing trip to Ochoco Lake
last week. They also visited the
Clifford Yarnells at Madras.
Mrs Gordon White and daugh
ter, Lona are visiting in Port
land and Forest Grove.
Pete Cannon and children and
Mrs Echo Palmoter spent the
first of the week at the home of
Mrs Palmateer's sister. Mrs Ha
zel Beers at Eagle Creek. Mrs
Beers returned home with them.

ranrh. It was burning near a
barn filled with hay.

ity church parlors Thursday ev
ening, June 25. Mrs James Petty

ney assisted her with the gifts.
Arleta McCabe played a piano
solo and Marlene and Anita
Crawford gave a tap dance.
Refreshments were served from
a table decorated with roses. Mrs

and Mrs Earl McKinney poured
the coffee. The room was dec
orated with lillies, carnations,
and pinks.

spent this week in West Linn

attended a high school class re
union in Astoria
Mr and Mrs Ray Barnett re
turned home Wednesday of last
week from over a week's vacat
ion. They visited his brother and
sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs Floyd
Barnett at Eureka, Calif. On their
way down they went through the
Oregon Caves, the House of Mys
tery and the Trees of Mystery,
They came home through the
Redwoods and stopped at the Sea
Lion caves. Also stopped in Port
land and attended the Centen
nial.
Mr and Mrs Milton Morgan
and son, Gary, and Rollo Craw
ford spent a few days on the
Columbia River at McNary last
week. Three boats, including the
Morgan's went through the locks
Friday taking the princesses and
the queen of the Acqua Capers
and the officials to Umatilla
They then went to Pasco where
the queen and court were shown
on T V. ,
The Ted Hewitts have solved
the problem of weeds on vacant
lots. They have one of the best
gardens in town on a vacant
lot on Second street.

day afternoon, June 18, with Mrs
