Sony to have missed last week,'
but then perhaps you didn't no

day night? Looks like we still
have a riding club. Did you no
tice how radiant and lovely the
Queen In fact the entire court
was? I'm sure the mayor did
or maybe It was mike fright. I
detected a slight tremor In his
tone as he said "I crown you
Queen." I wish to apologize for
riding by at that time and for
my horse trying to help out.
I noticed the Dolvens with
some of their driving stock but I
didn't see Silent Johnston. I
guess repairs are slow.
I see Hutch has the old man
ger torn out and the holes dug
for the new one. Time is fleat

turned home Tuesday evening
from Chehalis, Wash where they
had been to see his mother who
is very ill.
Mr and Mrs Fred McCaleb of
Corvallis spent two days at the
Bud Engle home. Gary Engle
returned home with them to
spend a week.
Mrs Bill Gienger went to John
Day Tuesday. Ray Gienger, who
has been In the John Day clinic,
returned with her.
Mr and Mrs Otis Rickers and
sons of Mt Vernon spent a few
days visiting her folks, the Ar
chie Giengers.

were weekend visitors at the Joe
Wheeler ranch.

at the Willard Gilman ranch for
a few days.
A birthday party was held at
the Cottonwood school house in
honor of Mrs Bill Gienger. Those
attending were Mrs Bob Gienger,
Mrs Gene Vaughan, Linda Cross,
Mrs Loyd Gienger, Mrs Jenny
Gienger, Mrs Addle Osborn, Mrs
Bud Engle, Mies Marlene Lewis
and the Gene Vaughan children.
Mr and Mrs Joe Wheeler and
family left Thursday for Buffalo,
Missouri to visit his mother, Mr
Delia Wheeler, who is ill.
Mr and Mrs Sam Scott and son
Robert spent the weekend in Vale
with his folks.

from Tulelake, California arriv
ed here Thursday to spend a
while in the Wilson home.
Mr and Mrs Bob Kingman of
Alturas, California are spending
their week's vacation with her
folks, the Mattesons and Scotts.

business trip to John Day on

and Danny Jones were here over
the weekend from their camp
where they are cleaning right
of way between Mitchell and
Ochoco.
Major and Mrs Elmer "Brick"
Smith and daughter, who have
spent the last three years on
Oahu, Hawaii, spent the last
week visiting her father, Lee
Jones; sister and family, the Van
Dettas and her brother Danny
Jones. They left Monday for a
new duty assignment at McChord
Field, AFB, Tacoma, Washing
ton. Mr and Mrs Ernie Roberts of
Portland spent the weekend at
