The candlelight service was per formed by Merrill E Shaw, miss ionary pastor of the church, be fore the altar decorated with bas kets of pink and yellow gladioli. I Mrs John Partlow sang "I Love Tfou, Truly" and "Wedding Pray er", accompanied by Mrs Merrill S'iw, who also played the wed ding marches. The bride, given in marriage By her father, was lovely in a allerina length gown of white flylon acetate lace, fashioned Jith long sleeves and a long loulded bodice, with scalloped teckline, square in back, with a jluge butterfly bow at the waist Jne. It had a full gathered skirt, tilth pleated nylon net insert in Iront, and a ruffled net under Slip, fully lined with taffeta. Her Shoulder length veil was held In place by a headband of seed pearls and rhinestones, which was borrowed from her cousin, Mrs Ted Shaffer of Biloxi, Tex, pho wore It at her wedding three iears ago. Something old were fier pearl earrings, something jiew her pearl necklace,- a gift from the groom. She carried "a tilue handkerchief and T laven fler orchid on a white bible. J Miss Irene Potts was her sis Jer's maid of honor and wore t ballerina length frock of blue faffeta. She carried a nosegay f Shasta daisies. Chrysanthe mums and gladioli. Miss Connie Baker and Miss Barbara Gan- onbein were bridesmaids, and ore identical frocks of pink and ellow taffeta, and carried car- ation nosegays. Susan Partlow and Carolyn Ba- er were the candlelighters and ore green taffeta frocks. David" Romine, nephew of the groom, of LaGrande was best man, and ushers were Dick Hos kins and Orville Pellett, brother-in-law of the groom, both of La Grande. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the grange hall, with about 80 people at tending. The beautiful four-tiered cake, topped with bridal fig urines, was made by Mrs Lafie Foster of The Dalles cousin of the bride. After the first piece of cake was cut by the couple it was cut and served by Mrs Geo rge Ramsey of The Dalles, cousin of the bride. Mrs Dayne Coch enour of The Dalles, cousin of the bride, poured the coffee, and Mrs David Romine of LaGrande served the punch. In charge of the reception were Mrs Elvin Ely, Mrs Earl Briggs, Mrs Guy Fergu son Mrs Seth Russell and Mrs Elmer Messenger. Mrs Lafie Foster of The Dalles and Mrs William Weber of Sun nyside, Wash were in charge of the gift table, and Mrs Orville Pellett, sister of the groom, of LaGrande had the guest book. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs Potts wore a pale blue and pink print, dress with white hat and accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue and white dacron dress and white hat. 1 Both wore corsages of pink car-, nations. j The bride is a graduate of, Boardman high school and at tended EOCE at LaGrande. The groom attended LaGrande high school. After a trip to coastal! points they are living at 1415 ' "U" avenue in LaGrande. Judy Cochell Has Party To Celebrate Sixteenth Birthday Miss Judy Cochell celebrated her 16th birthday with a party Monday evening at the Willow creek home of her parents, Mr and Mrs Dick Wilkinson. Dancing and games were en-, joyed during the evening and( later refreshments, . featuring birthday cake, were served to Sheryl Harris, Barbara Siewert, Jeanne Collins, Mary Johnston,! Pam Cochell. Committee reports were given and committees were appointed for the coming year by president, Mrs Floyd Adams. A letter was read from Miss Leta Humphreys who is in Hus ton, Texas to attend the conven tion of the American Federation of Soroptimist clubs. Greenfield grange met Thurs day night of last week at the hall, starting with potluck sup per at 6:30. Hostesses were Mrs Claud Coats and Mrs Florence Root. Initiation of the third and fourth degrees was given to Mr and Mrs Charles Higuera, Mr and Mrs Leon Kennedy, Mrs Darrell Marlow and Mrs Harold Marlow. Mrs Earl Briggs gave a re port on her recent trip to the State Grange session at Eugene. Leon Kennedy won the "jack pot." The Home Economics club of Greenfield grange met Wednes day of last week at the home of Mrs Claud Coats, with Mrs Florence Root as co hostess. Mrs Myron Watts assisted them. There were 15 members present and visitors were Mrs J D Car negie of Harlem, Mont, and Mrs Rollin Bishop. Mrs Freda Thayer, former tea cher here, and Donald Aardappel ; visited here Saturday on their way home to Lyons from Cleve land, Ohio, where Mrs Thayer attended the National NEA con vention June 29,-July 4. They al so went to Woodbrldge, Va, to visit Donald's father, SSgt Wil liam Aardappell. Jim Aardappell returned here with them, and will work In Boardman for the sum mer. Mr and Mrs Dewey West and children Larry and Dewena went to The Dalles Sunday to visit at the homes of West's brother-in-law and sisters, Mr and Mrs Dale Russell and Mr and Mrs Carroll Donavan. Mr and Mrs Ronald Black and daughter Diane spent the week end at Taft visiting at the home of Mrs Crystal Barlow and Mr and Mrs Albert Ball. Mr and Mrs Gene Harwood of Pendleton are the parents of a daughter, born July 9. She has been named Patricia Louise. Grandparent is Mrs Zena Har wood of Hermiston, former resi dent here. The baby weighted six pounds, 13 ounces. Mrs Frank Marlow was in Walla Walla, Wash from Thurs day till Saturday, visiting her aunt, Mrs Ernest Zerba.
