The Rev Robert E Drewes, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church of Hermiston, spoke on "Overcoming the World." Mrs LaVern Partlow played the processional and recessional. The high school girls sang a number, and two hymns were sung by the audience. Members of the senior class are Barbara Gantenbein, Donna Watts, James Thorpe, Ivan Kress, Gerald Peck and Gary Moore. The home Economics club of Greenfield grange met Wednes day of last week at the hall, starting with lunch at 12:30 pm. Hostesses were Mrs Russell Mil ler and Mrs Ed Skoubo. Guests wpre Mrs C C Carneeie of Port land, Mrs Rosa LaChance and Miss Eva LaChance of Tacoma, Wash. The class night program for the class of ,1958 of Boardman high school was presented Mon day night in the gymnasium Ivan Kress, student body presi' dent was master of ceremonies. The Star Spangled Banner was played by the school band, led hv Marion Morlan. This was fol lowed by the flag salute. The senior class phophecy was read by Jim Thorpe. Following this the band daved another num ber. The senior class history was next read bv Jerry Peck. The junior class girls sang a song, "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands." This was followed hv another band number. The senior class will was read by Barbara Gantenbein. lne sopn omore class presented a skit, "What a Classroom." Ivan Kress installed next vpar a student body officers Kurt Gantenbein, vice-president; Barbara Anderegg, secretary treasurer. Dean King, president, was not Dresent to be installed. The freshman class presented a skit, "A Faculty Meeting", im itations of teachers. Rnnald Black. Marion Morlan presented awards to Barbara Gantenbein and Jim Thorpe for being in the band for seven years. ShirW Earwood and Barbara Anderegg were presented with typing awards. Bookkeeping ana commercial law awards were presented to Jim Thorpe, Barbara Gantenbein and Barbara Anderegg. In athletics the following let ters were awarded: football, Bill Getz and Larry Fussell; Base ball, Lanny Martin and Lloyd Raker: football and baseball, Jim Miller. Bob Taylor and Lloyd Rash- hasketball and baseball, nous-las Shattuck: football, bas ketball, Jim Thorpe, Ivan Kress, Jerry Peck, Gary Moore, seniors, and Larry West, freshman. Sigvald Aase, superintendent, presented trophies to Barbara Gantenbein as valedictorian and to Donna Watts as salutatorian. Carolyn Baker received the world history award, and Barbara Gan tenbein the award in American problems. In presentations of gifts to class advisors, Jim Thorpe pre sented Ronald Black a gift from the seniors: Wanda Forthman presented to Sigvald Aase for the luniors: Kurt Gantenbein presented to Harold Gauger for the sophomores: and Bob lay lor presented to Marion Morlan for the freshmen Gary Moore read the annual dedication to Gerald Anderson, a former classmate.
