Notice is hereby given that on the 27 day of January 1958, the annual meeting and election of two supervisors of the Heppner. Soil Conservation District will be held under the provisions of the Soil Conservation District Law of this State, Chapter 568, Section 590, ORS. A pink and blue shower was held in honor of Mrs Charles Mc- Kenzie Friday evening at the home of Mrs Don David. Mr and Mrs Charles Smith of La Grande were weekend visit ors at the home of their son-in- law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Harold Marlow. 4- Foresterettes The Heppner foresterettes held their meeting at Patricia Van Winkle's home. Tom Wilson showed us some branches from different trees and told us their Latin names. He also told us how to tell them from other trees Patricia Van Winkle served re freshments. HEPPNER 4-H SINGING STITCHERS The Singing Stitchers 4-H club met at Sue Townsend's home Jan 11 with 11 members, our lea der Veda Brenner and junior lea der Brenda Townsend, present. After calling the meeting to or der we gave the flag salute and sang a song. A discussion was held on using thimbles. We are working on luncheon cloths and napkins. Refreshments of ice cream sun- dies, chocolate and cookies were served by our hostess, Mrs Her shal Townsend. The next meet ing will be at Cheryle Lundells on Jan 29. The members are Libby Van Schoi ack, president; Sondra Campbellj vice president; Cheryl Crist, sec retary and Sherry Lindsay and Darlene Turner, reporters. 4-H SADDLE CLUB was called to order by president Bobby Fetsch. Marlene Griffin, secretary, read the minutes. We gave the 4-H pledge and took roll call. Barbara Hutchins brought Ha zel McDaniel and Lenona Hopp er as guests. We voted on a name for our club, "The 4-H Rough Rid ers . The refreshment committee for next time is Barbara Hutchins, Shannon Mahoney and Marlene Fetsch. Meeting was adjourned. Marlene Fetsch news reporter Gay Bluebirds Dress Dolls The Gay Bluebirds met at the Episcopal parish Jan 21. We decided to dress our dolls in Holland costumes for the next meeting with a pr'ze for the best costume. We modeled wooden shoes for our dolls in clay.
