Fifty Year Masonic Pin Presented To Frank S Parker At District Meeting A 50-year emblem was presen ted to Frank S Parker at the district meeting of Masonic lodg es of Heppner, lone, Arlington, Condon, and Fossil at Condon on Tuesday evening. Parker receiv ed the emblem from the hands of his son, Vawter Parker, who came from Hood River for the occasion, the actual presentation being made by Clarence A Kopp, grand master of Masons in Ore gon. Mr Parker became a master Mason in Cove lodge on Christ mas Day, 1907, and has been a member of Heppner Lodge since 1924. He served Heppner Lodge as master in 1929. The grand master, an accomplished orator and rector of the Episcopal church in La Grande, addressed a gathering of some sixty mas ons from the various lodges of the district. Heppner lodge was represent ed by the following officers: Mar cel Jones, Eugene Hall, R B Rice, Harold Becket, Howard Keithley, Kenneth Keeling, John Pfeiffer, Jack Sumner, and Oliver Cres wick. Mrs Frank Hamlin Is Pinochle Hostess Mrs Frank Hamlin was host ess to the pinochle club at her home Fridav evening. Guests were Mrs Ed LaTrace, Mrs Wal ter Beckett, Mrs Max Harris, Mrs Robert Lowe. Other officers are Mrs Creston Robinson, vice pres ident; Mrs Bill Glennie, treas urer and Mrs Jack Healy, secre tary. Mrs Fred Gimbel was elected chairman of the kindergarten board and Mrs James Norene and Mrs Robert Jones were named to the executive board. The annual style show was set for Wednesday evening, March 19. Anna Skoubo Weds Walker C Warren At Boardman by Mary Lou Marlow Mrs Anna Skouba became the bride of Walker C Warren of Pen dleton in a double-ring ceremony at 2 p m at the Boardman Com munity church Jan 18. The can dlelight service was performed by the Rev G A Hash, pastor of the Baptist church at Irrigon, be fore the altar decorated with white stock and yellow chrysan themums. Mrs Russell DeMauro, Hood River, daughter of the bride, sang "Bless This House", and Duane Brown of The Dalles sang "I Love You Truly." The bride, given in marriage by her son, Edward SkouBo of Boardman, wore a street length dress of chamDaene lace over ta ffeta, with exev accessories. The grey hat was fashioned by the bride herself. Her necklace was a gift from the groom. She wore an orchid corsage. Mrs Russell DeMauro was her mother's matron of honor, and wore a blue silk dress and white hat. Her corsage was of pink and white carnations. Evert Clark. Pendleton, son-in- law of the groom, was the best man. Ushers were Kaipn skoudo, Boardman. son of the bride, and Lynn Ranney, Pendleton, neph ew of the groom. Following the ceremony a re- ceDtion was held in the grange hall with over 100 guests attend ing. The beautiful four-tierea cake. toDDed with hells, was cut and served by Mrs Hugh Brown and Mrs Jack Kennedy of Fenaie ton. Mrs Ralph Skoubo, daughter-in-law of the bride, poured the coffee, and Mrs Edward Skoubo, daughter-in-law of the bride ser ved the punch. In charge of the reception were Mrs Elvin Ely, Mrs Claud Coats, Mrs Charles Andereee. Mrs Russell Miller and Mrs Michael Cassidy. Each one wore a corsage of white carnat ions. Mrs Evert Clark of Pendleton, daughter of the groom, was In charge of the guest book. At the gift table were Mrs Gertrude Shaw of Pendleton, sister of the groom, and Miss Phyllis Ranney of Portland, niece of the groom. For going away the bride wore a cocoa silk dress and scarlet coat with black accessories. The hat and purse were made by the bride. After a wedding trip the couple will be at home near Pen dleton. A letter was read from Eng land and an announcement mad concerning the organizationa meeting on Monday evening January 27 for the hospital aux iliary. Mrs Arnin Hug was re-elected elder of the Boardman Commun ity church for a three year term at the annual congregational meeting Sunday evening. The Rev William Snyder, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Um atilla, was moderator. Mrs Flor- 1 ence Root was re-elected treas urer. All annual reports were J read. Following the meeting the Rev Snyder conducted commun ion services, and was guest spea ker at the evening church ser vice. Miss Dorothy Walton, mission ary of the community church, will leave this week to go to Ophir, Ore where she will assist Miss Zelma Cowan with the church there. Miss Louise Jam es, who was assisting Miss Cow- ! an, was an overnight visitor here (Friday on her way to Spokane, , Wash, called there by the illness of her mother. I Plans for the annual Sweet heart dinner held by the Tilli cum club was discussed at their meeting Tuesday night of last week at the home of Mrs Sig vald Aase. The dinner will be Feb 16 for members and their families.
