Mr. and Mrs. Barney Cork and children spent the weekend here from Prineville. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Leslie of Hoopa, Calif, are at her folks, the Roy Corks. They are going to put their children in school here. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lewis and his sister Mrs. Ray Davis drove to Heppner Thursday on business. Mrs. Freida Wheeler who was in the John Day hospital for a few days came home Saturday. She left Monday to visit friends in Sweet Home for two weeks. Harley Matteson of Heppner was here Friday to hunt with his brother Elmer Matteson. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Croker and son spent the weekend in Salem on business. A good crowd gathered at the Court Rock school house Satur day night for a pot luck supper and dance in honor of Mrs. Jen nie Geinger's birthday. She was 90 years old. Nearly 80 persons were present. Victor DuBosch returned last week from a trip to the east, vis iting his parents and on business to Washington, D. C. Mrs. Jessie Scott and Mrs. Elm er Matteson are baby sitters for women having their home exten sion classes in coloring. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Neal drove to Walla Walla last week on business. Mrs. Crum Dies Edna Gienger Crum passed away Saturday, October 19 at St. Anthony's hospital in Pendleton where she had been a patient for the past s?ven months. She was boTn to John and Jennie Gienger May 9, 1894 at Court Rock, Ore., and was the wife of Aubry Crum. They worked for the state at the Monument lookout tower for years until last spring. Services were held Wednesday at the Monument church with burial at the Hamilton cemetery. She is survived by her husband her mother Jennie Gienger. six brothers and three sisters Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sweek of Ridgefield, Wash, is visiting this week at the home of her daugh ter and family, the Roy Bow mans. The American Legion and Aux iliary met Saturday night at the grange hall for a short business meeting followed by two films on baseball and football. Cake and coffee were served. Mr. and Mrs. Barney Cork and chidren of Prineville were guests at the home of her sister and family, the Stanley Boyeds. Tom Ross was a caller at the Maynard Hamiton home Satur day evening. Mrs. Ernie Johnson has been laid up since she fell out of an apple tree. The M.M.M. club met at the home of Doris Capon Thursday afternoon with her mother Delsia Sweek as co-hostess. Friday night was the 4-H ach ievement evening held at the grange hall. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Grant of Harlen, Ore. and their grand daughter Donna Mae have been visiting her hister, Mrs. Dell Neal and her sons Lee and Arlet Flemings. Charles Crumble, the school principal, made a business trip to Salem and Portland. Robert Gertson, grade school principal, returned with him, He had been in Portland several weeks for medical care. Jack De Lashmutt of Portland was visiting at the Jack Sweek home. He was a CCC boy when the camp was here and then stayed on to finish school here.
