The hall was decorated in the Hallowe'en theme with corn stalks, pumpkins and chrysan themums. Brad shaw of Albany announce the en gagement of their daughter, Bev erly Jean to Mr. Charles Doherty of lone, son of Mrs. Margery Do herty of Pendleton. An early February wedding is planned. The announcement was made at a tea given by Mrs. Jean Mai lory and Mrs. Paul Koenig at the Koenig home Friday after noon. A heart motif was carried out with the decorations in pink and white. Mrs. Bradshaw, mother of the bride elect, poured at the tea table. The centerpiece was com posed of white chrysanthemums that have been named in honor of Mrs. Bradshaw, former vice presidednt of the Oregon Federa tion of Garden Clubs. Those attending were Mes dames William Turner, Jack Loyd, Jennie Allgood, N. C. L. Osmin of Heppner, and Don Ray Wond erly, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Wonderly of Sweet Home, were married August 30 at the Sweet Home Church of Christ. Rev. Earl Downing officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride was given in mar riage by her cousin, Merle Plank, of Salem. She wore a light blue evening gown and carried a white Testament with orchids from Hawaii. Mrs. Neal Robertson sang " I Love You Truly" and "The Lord's Prayer", accompanied by Claudia Palmer. Maid of honor was Virginia Lee Dykstra, cousin of the bride, of Terrebonne. She wore a light pink dress and carried pink glad iolus. Don Godell served as best man anil ushers were Hubert Points, a brother-in-law of the groom, and Dale Ocker of Salem. Taper ligh ters were Frankie Osmin of Hep pner, brother of the bride, and Daniel Wonderly, brother of the groom. A reception was held following the ceremony at the church atten ded by about 100 guests. Mrs Royce Lang poured, assiated by Mrs. John Postma, and Mrs. Alvin Blankenship cut and served the wedding cake. Kathleen Wonder ly was in charge of the guest book and Miss Edith Morris wa? in charge of the gift table. A second reception was held Aug. 30 at the home of Mr. and and Mrs. Hubert Points honoring the groom's parents who were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. The bride attended Heppner high school and is now employed as a secretary by a wholesale grocery firm in Salem. The groom is a graduate of Sweet Home high school and is now a student at a business school in Salem. Following a wedding trip the couple are making their home at 1215 N. Commercial St., Salem. o Judie Spauldirig Has Slumber Party Miss Judie Spaulding invited the girls of her Senior class to a slumber party Saturday night. Mrs. Moore received high score, Mrs. Burnett second and Mrs. Hoke low. 17th Birthday Party Fetes Butch Laughlin Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wyman and Mr. and Mrs. Pat O'Brien entertained Friday evening at the latter's home to honor Mrs. Wy- man's son, Butch Laughlin on his 17th birthday. The football motif was followed throughout the decorations. There was dancing, games with prizes and Miss Judie Spaulding show ed slides of last year's Heppner high school junior class play and prom. Mrs. Oliver Creswiek, youth committee chairman, reported that the trucks would leave from the school at 5:30 p.m. going to the Hardman I. O. O. F. hall for dinner, games and dancing.
