PATRICK'S CHURCH SCENE OF O'HARRA-NEWMAN WEDDING SATURDAY A bride of Saturday was Miss bride, cut the cake and Mrs. Vir Constance Jo Ann, Newman, gil Weathers, aunt of the groom. daughter of Mr. ana Mrs. jonni Newman, whose wedding to Le lan F. O'Harra was at noon at St. Patrick's Catholic church with the Rev. Patrick J. Gaire officiat ing. Mr. O'Harra is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwayne O'Harra of Weston. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long dress of white imported lace over sat in, made with a tiered skirt, high neck and long pointed sleeves. Her double veil was held in place with a heart shaped crown of pearls and she carried a bouquet of white orchids and white car nations. For something borrowed she wore an ivory hand-carved med allion from the Holy Land, bles sed In Jerusalem and loaned by Mrs. Frank Lindstrom of lone, and for something blue she had a small blue bow at the back of her orchid. Mrs. Jack Bond of Walla Walla , was matron of honor and wore a blue ballerina length dress with a yellow cummerbund, matching shoulder length veil held in place with pearls and carried white car nations with yellow streamers. Bridesmaids were dressed simi lar to the matron of honor with Miss Jovce Gaston of Weston wearing green with a pink cum merbund and Miss Marge Talbot, Joseph, wearing pink with a green cummerbund. Trisha Farley, flower girl, was dressed In white with a blue bow and blue veil. Best man was Fred Lorenzen of Pendleton and ushers were Don ald Smock. Weston, cousin of the groom and Charles McCullough, Salem. Mrs. Harry D'Donnell Jr. was soloist and Miss Marguarlte Gla vey, organist. The mother of the bride and the mother of the groom, both chose brown two-piece afternoon dresses, matching accessories and each wore a corsage of green or chids. At the reception which followed the ceremony, the bride's table was covered with a white embroi dered cloth from Damascus and was centered with the three tiered wedding cake iced In blue and decorated with roses and wedd ing bells on the top. Jerry Weathers, cousin of the groom, passe'd the groom's cake. Members of the Altar Society, who helped with the reception, were Mrs. Jerry Daggett, Mrs. James Monahan, Mrs. William Sowell. Bergstrom was hostess for an all day meeting at her home in Gooseberry, which was a follow-up of a previous Extension Unit in copper work. Mrs. Bergstrom's sister, Mrs. E. T. Land of Port Orchard, Wash., who visited at the Bergstrom home, from Saturday until Wednesday, and has had considerable experi ence in this type of work, en larged upon the Instruction the class had received. Many who could not come telephoned and sent cards. The lace covered table was centered with pink Quill mums with silver bows and leaves and a silver 25 in the center. A large sheet cake covered with white icing and silver num bers was served. Those serving were Mrs. Lawr ence Palmer, Mrs. Dale Ray, Mrs. Lee Pettyjohn, Mrs. Fred Her mann, Mrs. Harold Dobyns, Mrs. Kenneth Palmer, Mrs. Harold Sherer, Mrs. Paul Pettyjohn, Mrs. Elmer Palmer and Mrs. Clell Rhea. "ffm Jim Morris Tells Soroptimist Club Of Summer Trip Mrs. John Pfeiffer program chairman for the Soroptimist club, Introduced Jim Morris at the regular meeting Thursday and he told the club about his trip to the National FBLA convention held in Dallas, Texas this summer. Jim is' the state president of the Future Business Leaders of Am erica. At the National convention Jim had the opportunity to be on the piogram in a panel discussion group. Joi n Brosnan was the senior gill representative at this week's meeting. The program was start ed last year of having a senior girl visit the club nevetings each week. Mrs. Eddie Gunderson was wel comed as a new member of the club. Final plans were made fur the card party which is given to finance the annual Hallowe'en hayride lor teenagers. u Luncheon Given For Low Scorers of Club Those members of .the Whats Trumos bridge club holding the high scores for the past season entertained those with low scores with a luncheon last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Tom Wilson.
