She told of her plans to go to Oregon State college, what she plans to take as a major and her plans for the future. ? Mrs. Ella Sargent was also a guest of the club for this meeting. Shannon of Boardman, be came the bride of A2c Joseph Charles Lamberson of Spokane, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sim mons of Pittsburgh, Pa., Aug. 24 at the Methodist church in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Miss Dorothy Rudisile of Spo kane was maid of honor and S Sgt. Robert Mulcrone of Board man was best man. The bride wore a grey suit and white hat, with black patent ac cessories. She wore an orchid cor sage. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Shannon wore a grey fig ured dress, with black accessor ies. Following the wedding a recep tion was held at the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Christiansen in Spokane. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. H. W. Parsons of Seattle, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Lyle Boston of Spo kane, greataunt of the bride, poured the coffee. Guests at the wedding and re ception were Mrs. Nancy R. The groom was formerly stationed at the Boardman bombing range. After a three weeks trip to Pitts burgh Pa. to visit the groom's parents, the couple will live in Spokane, where the groom is sta tioned. U LT up Minister Claims Persecution of Group Ten American missionaries were deported to Puerto Rico from the Dominican Republic August 3, Ted Poland presiding minister of the Hermiston congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses , an nounced yesterday. Fare was paid by the government and the mis sionaries were escorted under ar rest to the plane. Action came on the heels of "a wave of persecution equaled only in Communist countries" cli maxed by a total ban proscribing the work of Bible education con ducted by the Witnesses in the Dominican Republic since 1945. An ultimatum to take the Christian missionaries to re nounce all association with the organization and cease commu nication with their Brooklyn, N.Y. office or leave the country was made last month by Major Gen eral Arturo Espillat, Minister of Security, whom the U. S. Govern ment has sought to question in the disappearance of Dr. Jesus de Galindez. Some of the mission aries have been in the country for 11 years. According to official news sour ces, of the Dominican Republic proscription of the Christian act ivity of Jehovah's Witnesses was legalized by President Hector Tru jillo on July 25 and the law car ries penalties of from one to three months imprisonment with fines of from $30 to $100. It was announced that over $1 million had been appropriated by the Do minican government to enforce the ban. Mr. Poland said a full-scale campaign to restrict the religious freedom of the Witnesses has been underway since July 1.
