C. visited last week at the home of her cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Algy Taylor. With her was her son LAC Barry Dyke of the R. C. A.F., who has just returned from Germany. Mrs. Taylor has recent ly received word of the death of her mother, Mrs. Emma Spillman, who died Aug. 8 in Pierce City Mo. Visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Worden were Worden's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Worden of Joplin, Mo. While here both couples visited relatives in McMinnville and Depoe Bay and also visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gillette in Yak"-' ima, Wash. i Mr. and Mrs. Lowell King and Marie Dick of Salem were visit-' ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnin Hug Thursday of last week. The three ladies were old school ; mates, and had not seen each other for about 30 years. Emmett Holt of Gresham visit ed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller three days last week. Other visitors the first of the week were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Douglas and daughter Cindy of Salem. Mr. and Mrs. George Wiese spent from Thursday till Sunday at Seaside. Mrs. Dale Eades was in charge of the store during their absence. The Tillicum club met Thurs day night of last week at the home of Mrs. Dewey West, with nine members present. Mrs. Ron ald Haas was a guest. Mrs. Har old Baker and Mrs. Eldon Shan non reported on the princess dance at Heppner. Grace McCabe. is making a bet ter wool dress. This is her first time working with wool. Brenda Townsend is working on a street dress made of better cotton. This is her second dress as she felt she could improve on her first one. Karen Lundell and Linda Hei- mbigner are making dresses with short jackets. They are working with a cotton and silk materi al. Karen had a little difficulty with bound buttonholes. Both girls changed the style of the skirt from the pattern. Mardine Baker is making a sheath dress and jacket.
