Weekly pay checks of factory workers are down slightly from a recent "high" but consumer spending has risen about 5 per cent. Government spending state, local and federal is also increas ing. Foreign spending for U. S. products during the past year has risen sharply, partly with the help of our money, the economist explains. Value of farm exports has increased about 40 percent and non-farm exports about 20 percent. At the same time, agri cultural imports are down about percent while other imports are up at least 10 percent. Increased costs of things farm ers must buy have prevented their sharing fully in general eco nomic trends. Some farmers have done better than last year while others lost ground. Showing slight price improvements at mid year were wheat, wool, cattle, hogs and dairy products. On the downgrade were poultry, feed grains, hay, potatoes, seeds and some fruits and vegetables. o KEEP OREGON GREEN DR. J. A. LEE Dentist Heppner Clinic Bldg.
