Jean Hewitt who has been visiting at the Whitman home returned to r.alvin last week. Bruce Rigby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Rigby, spent last week at the Youth Range Camp at Tupper station in the mount ains. His scholarship was spons ored by the 4 H leaders. Bruce wishes to thank them fof the wonderful time and good eats he had while there. There were 60 boys at the camp. They were taught about plants, trees and grasses, about cameras, trapping and being a good sport in the mountains. They saw some log :;ing operations and took part in a plant contest. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Palmer entertained the following guests at a dinner party at their home Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Lee Petty john anti children of Olex, Jim mv Pettviohn of The Dalles. Mrs. Kenneth Botts was honor ed with a baby shower at the John Botts home Sunday after noon. Miss Gloria Chnstoph erson and Miss Louise Botts were the hostesses. James and Albert Cooley of Naches. Wash., nephews or John Botts have been working here in harvest. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buschke brought her grandson, Michael Rowell home with her. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Loy and children of La Grande spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ball. Major and Mrs. Henry Phil- ins and children of Washing ton, D. C. were recent visitors at the Dixon Smith home. Major Phillips is a nephew of Mrs. Smith.. Lyle Kincakl is attending Camp Easter Seal at Lakeside near Coos Bay. The camp lasts from August 3 to 12. He will then vis it relatives and friends in Port land for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Morgan and children were Portland visitors last week. Mr. and Mrs. Noel Dobyn and Mrs. Grace Ware went to Morton, Wash, last week where they vis ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs G. V. Crumb. Mrs. Crumb is a sister of Mrs Dobvns and a daughter of Mrs. Ware. Mrs. Ware remained for a longer visit. Mrs. Cleo Drake was a Pend leton visitor last week.
