John Partlow started last week, and Ralph and Ed Skoubo started digging their early potatoes on the Kennedy place in the east end Friday. Mrs. Gladys Sargent and child ren Chuck, Patty and Maureen, of Portland were weekend visit ors of Miss Jean Scott and Miss Zclma Cowan. Sandra Thorpe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Thorpe, had a tonsillectomy at Good Shepherd hospital in Hermiston last Fri day. She returned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Faulkner and children Judy, Jerry, Teresa and Timothy of Longview, Wash, were weekend visitors at the home of Faulkner's brother-in- law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Low ell Shattuck. The preservative is pentachlor ophenol, often referred to simply as "penta." It is sold under vari ous trade names, already mixed in a water repellent solution, or equipment.
