Beppner Gazette Times, Thursday, July 1 1, 1957 Former Boardman Resident Passes By Mary Lee Marlow Graveside services were held at Riverview cemetery Monday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Jennie S. Olson, who died suddenly July 3 at her home in Portland. Mrs. Olson, who was a pioneer resident here, moved to Portland about 11 years ago. Members of her family here for the services were her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Olson of Prinevllle and her sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs Pat Pattee of Bonners Ferry, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Uthe of Umatilla, Mrs. Ivera Kelly and Miss Elida Olson of Portland. Members of the Skoubo family held their fourth reunion in Port land Saturday, July 6. The affair is held every three years. At tending from here were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Skoubo and sons Dick and Bobbie, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Skoubo and children Davy and Janelle, Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Skoubo and daughter Patsy, Mrs. Gene Hiigel and children Jean ette, Gary and Jimmy, Leo Skoubo, Mrs. Toivo Simila and six children, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Skoubo and Mrs. Anna Skoubo of Pendleton. The next reunion will be held in 19C0 in Petaluma, Cali fornia. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ball and uaughters Janet and Janice of Taft were weekend visitors at the home of Ball's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ball. Other recent visit ors at the Ball home were Mrs. Ball's sister, Mrs. Grace Bates and granddaughter, Barbara Yokum of Riddles, Ore., and Mrs. Dorothy Montgomery and son Dicky of Oak Ridge. Her son George came after her Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bedford and sons Leonard Jr., Greg ind Billie went to Missoula, Mont, the Fourth to visit Bedford's mother, Mrs Hettie Bedford, and other rel atives at Cutbank, Mont. They returned home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eades and children of Hood River visited at the home of Eades' mother, Mrs. R, A. Eades, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yuskat and two sons of Portland were ever night guests at the home of Mrs. Zoe Billings Saturday. Sunday they were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely. From here they went to La Grande to visit Mr. and Mrs. Eld on Ely. Miss Jean Scott went to Seattle Monday to visit her mother, Mrs. Mattie Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Deweese and children Bobby and Ricky of Grandview, Wash, visited at the home of Deweese's aunt, Mrs. Florence Root, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Reed of Bill ings, Mont, visited at the home of Reed's brother-in-law and sist er, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Watts, last week. They went from here to Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely and duughter Eileen spent the Fourth at Wallowa lake as euests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lilly of La Grande. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Eades and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Crouch were on a fishing trip to Magone lake and John Day. from Wednesday till Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Don Downey and sons Jerry and Wayne, Mrs. Lou ise Earwood and daughter Shirley visited at the home of Mrs. Ear- wood's brother and sister-in-law visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Gienger of Cotton wood. They plan on being mar ried July 11 and will make their home in Lewiston. On Sunday at Enterprise on business. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mellor drove to Condon on the evening of the Fourth so their children could -see the fire works show there. Mrs. Harley Leasie, Mrs. Mary Leasie and daughter Louise of Fox were here Tuesday picking raspberries at the McWillis home. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Hendrick son and daughter Donna of Eur eka,, Calif, spent Saturday on Cottonwood creek visiting at the Joe Wheeler ranch. Hinckley of Portland visited the Murd Stubblefield home. - Mary DuBosch drove Helen Brown to John Day Wednesday, to catch the bus for Boise, Idaho where she will visit her daugh ter tor a week.
