No amount of Conservation can completely protect farm lands directly under a cloudburst or in the path of its runoff, but such an occur ance only further points up the vital need for continuing efforts to establish farming prac tices that will keep our topsoil on the land where it can produce for all of us. Soil washed down streams is lost forever and it is to prevent such loss that Soil Conservation Districts are continually working. The saving of soil is only one phase of Con servation Week, though an extremely import ant one here. Continuing efforts to conserve all of Oregon's Natural Resources are needed and the observance of Conservation Week is designed to remind all of us of the part we must play in this work.
