Stewart Gribble Has 14th Birthday Party Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Gribble entertained the latter part of April with a party in honor of the 14th birthday of their son, Stewart. Guests were bid to the All Saints Episcopal parish house for dancing and games. Later in the evening refreshments were served. Those attending were members of the combined 8th grades of the Heppner school. ! Four Are Hostesses For Bridge Luncheon Monday Afternoon Monday afternoon Mrs. E. K. Schaffitz, Mrs. P. W. Mahoney, Mrs. Raymond Ferguson and Mrs. Robert Penland entertained with a bridge luncheon at the Mahoney home. Spring flowers were used throughout the rooms and on the tables. Those present were Mrs. Paul Koenig and John, Mrs. Ray Smith and Tim and Patric, Mrs. Merlin Wagoner and Jerry and Michael, Mrs. Cecil Hicks and Leroy, Simon Winters and Mrs. Munkers and Gary and Donald. The boys served the tea and each presented their mother with a gift. o Mrs. Peters And Son Honored At Shower Mrs. Norman Peters and son Harold Lynn were honored with a shower at the home of Mrs. Vic Kreimeyer Friday with Mrs. Krei- meyer and Mrs. Fred Gimbel as co-hostesses. At games played Mrs. Lucille Owens won first and Mrs. Whit mer Wright was low. Extension Unit Elects New Officers Tlie Heppner Extension Unit met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Bill Gentry for their last meeting of the year. The project lesson was Carried Lunches. Project leaders were Mrs. Merritt Gray and Mrs. Bill Gentry. Officers for 1957-58 were elected and installed by Mrs. Gene Ferg uson. They are Mrs. Al Fetsch, chairman; Mrs. Merritt Gray, vice chairman and Mrs. Marvin Boyd, secretary-treasurer. Refreshments were served to the following: Mrs. Al Fetsch, Mrs. Riley Munkers, Mrs. Douglas Drake, Mrs. Marvin Boyd, Mrs. Ray Drake, Mrs. Gene Ferguson, Mrs. Lee Scrivner Mrs. William Heath, Mrs. Paul Warren, Mrs. N. Mrs. Bill Gentry was honored by a surprise pink and blue shower at the close of the meet, ing. o Wilsons Entertain Two Evenings Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilson en tertained Wednesday and Friday evenings of last week. On both evenings Miss Viola Fisher, sister of Mrs. Wilson who has been in Iran for two years, showed colored slides she had taken during her stay there. Among the guests on both eve nings was Mrs. Wilson's mother, Mrs. W. M. Fisher of Post Falls, Idaho. Bridge Luncheon Enjoyed At Leonard Home Saturday Mrs. Mervin Leonard entertain, ed Saturday afternoon at her home in Lexington, with a bridge luncheon. Guests were Mrs. Allen Case, Mrs. E. K. Schaffitz, Mrs. Lowell Gribble, Mrs. George Little, Mrs. Ralph Thompson, Mrs. Frank Turner and Mrs. W. A. Ruggles. Mrs. Little received high score, Mrs. Case was second high and Mrs. Gribble, low. Legion Auxiliary Has Luncheon Monday The Heppner unit of the Ameri can Legion auxiliary entertain ed Monday afternoon with a luncheon at the home of Mrs. Harlan McCurdy Jr., with Mrs. James Healy as co-hostess, in honor of Mrs. Clarence Grund, department president of Dalles, Oregon; Mrs. Anson Ingels, Sa lem department vice president and Mrs. H. G. Murchison, Pen dleton, district president. Guests were Mrs, Riley Mun kers, president of the Heppner unit; Mrs. Don Bellenbrock, sec retary; Mrs. Wm. Heath, second vice president; Mrs. Dick Wells, Mrs. Don Bennett, Mrs. Merlin Wagoner; Mrs. Jerry Daggett, Mrs. LeRoy Gardner, Mrs. Jack Van Winkle and Mrs. Jack Flug. The honored guests were pre. sented orchid corsages by the group and Mrs. Grund and Mrs. Ingels spoke on auxiliary activities. B. Rice presented her piano pupils in recital Sunday afternoon at her home. Those playing were Cheryl Hart man, Sheridan Wyman, Judy Bradford and Judy Ferrell. Two guests, Marlene Fetsch and Vickie Barratt also played for the group. Refreshments were served after the recital to the parents and guests. o Dinner Party Honors Anniversary Date Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cleve land entertained Saturday eve ning with a dinner party honor ing Mr. and Mrs. Alex Thompson on their wedding anniversary. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Webb, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Van Marter, the guest of honor and the host and hostess. o Lex VFW Auxiliary Plans Food Sale The VFW auxiliary of Lexing ton is planning a food sale to be held Wednesday, May 29 at the postoffice starting at 9:00 a.m. Two delegates have been elect ed to attend the State encamp, men of the VFW auxiliary.
