Mrs. Forbes recently re turned from California where she spent the winter with her daugh. ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Osten at Oakdale. On her way home she visited the Bill Burk family near Redmond. Mr. Burk is teaching at Redmond. They brought her to Heppner. He was a former teacher here. Mr., and Mrs. C. W. Burton of Portland are visiting her mother, Mrs. Lana Tadberg. Easter guests at the G. Her mann home were Lt. and Mrs. Helmuth Hermann of Oswego, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Crawford and daughter of Echo and Mr. and Mrs. Julian Rauch of Her miston. ADR 3 Wayne Gollyhorn of Oak Harbor, Wash., spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Doris Gollyhorn. He was accom panied by a buddy, David Ran court. The boys are In the air force. Mrs. W. E. Melina is a pa tient in the Tioneer Memorial hospital. Games were played and refreshments of cake and ice cream were served. A coffee party was given in honor of Mrs. Anna Llndstrom at her home Easter Sunday whose birthday was that day. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Helina and son of Seattle who spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Anna Llndstrom, went home on Monday. Mrs. Mary Swanson went with them to visit relatives there. Mrs. Warren Crutcher who also, visited her mother Mrs. Anna Llndstrom, left for her home In Gresham Tuesday. She was ac companied by Mrs. Algett Lun dell who will visit in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Brlstow and children of Portland were visitors at the home of his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mr. and Mrs. Joel Barnett and children of Seattle spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barnett. Petitions for a chool board member for a five year term may be left at the superintendent of schools, R. H. Woodroof's office at the school. Miss Ruby Ann Rietmann of Pendleton spent the weekend here. Mh. and Mrs. Ray Turner and sons of Pendleton spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Drake and other relatives. There were 12 mem bers present and Mrs. Royal Rands was taken as a new member. Roll call was answered by giving the name of a spring wildflower. Mrs. Rollin Bishop was honored with a birthday cake. Announcement was made that the rose garden recently planted by the club on the Glen Carpen- chison; Side Line Vistory, Paul son; The Story of Rocks, Shuttles worth; The March Wind, Rice; The Little Twin, Paull; Friendly Little Jonathan, Bryan; Lady bug, Kraus. Fortner were in North Bend, Wash., last Thurs day and Friday to see Mrs. Fort ner's father, Fred Lucas, who has been in the hospital there for ten days. Prior to that he was In a Seattle hospital. He was to go home Saturday. His sister, Mrs. F. R. Fortner of Coquille and his daughter, Mrs. Robert Less of Ontario will stay with him.
