John Newman New
Head of Gem Club
The Morrow County Gem and
Mineral club met December 18 at
the Heppner Hotel for the regular
business meeting and election of
new officers lor the coming year.
Officers elected were, president,
John Newman; vice president,
Hubert Wilson; secretary-treas-urer,
Ora Evans. After the busi
ness session a Christmas program
and exchange of gifts was held.
In token of the appreciation for
the cooperation to the club, the
members and friends presented to
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sanders two
Pendleton car robes. Mr. Sanders
was program chairman of the
club for the past year.
Mrs. Newman was in charge of
the refreshments and program.
The next meeting will be Janu
ary 15 at the John Newman shop.
All persons interested in gems
and minerals are welcome to attend.

The Beta Omego chapter of
Epsilon Sigma Alpha met at the
home of Mrs. Eulenna Corley on
Wednesday, January 2, with Mrs.
Maxine Linnell as co-hostess.
The sorority discussed making
bath robes for the pioneer Me
morial hospital as their project
for another year. Most of the
members turned in their 5.00
they made on individual pro
jects. "
For the program Mrs. Alice
Crawford cut and styled hair of
several of the members.
