Subjects of the meeting will be "Holiday Decorations" with Mrs. Gene Iliigel as leader, "Party Payors" with Mrs. Garner leader, and "Gift Wrapping". Mr and Mrs. Claud Coats went to Seattle, Wash., last Wednes day to spend Thanksgiving at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mallery. They were accompanied by Miss Jean Scott and Miss Zelma Cowan, who visited Miss Scott's mother, Mrs. Mattie Scott. Miss Scott and Miss Cowan re turned home Friday and the Coats' returned Sunday. The Garden club met last week at the home of Mrs. Leo Potts with Mrs. Elmer Messenger as co -hostess. There were 17 pre sent. Roll call was answered by telling what they expected to do Thanksgiving. Mrs. Rollin Bis hop gave a reading on Thanks giving. The club voted to again send Christmas gifts to the Eastern Oregon state hospital in Pendle ton. Gifts are to be ready by Dec. 7. Students at O. S. C. at Cor vallis. home for the holidays were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gilles pie, Shirley Wiese and Leo Skou bo. Gerald Anderson, Willamina, accompanied the Gillespies home and was a dinner guest Thanks giving day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Garner. Another student at O. S. C, Loren Corwin, visited friends here during the holidays, and was a Thanksgiving dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller. Corwin is the son of George Corwin, who was super intendent of schools here several years ago. Mrs. Eileen Anderson, Pendle ton, was a weekend visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Zearl Gil lespie. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller have returned home from Sacramento, Calif., where they visited at the home of Miller's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. James Harding. Mrs. Effie Miller ac companied them home after visit ing the past three months in Sac ramento. Mrs. R. A. Eades spent last week in Pasco, Wash., visiting at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Woolley. Stanley Shattuck visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Lowell Shattuck, last week, after-finishing a five week training course at Ft. Benning, Ga. He sp'ent Thanksgiving with his grand mother, Mrs. Lester Knight, at Goldendales, Wash., accompanied by his mother and brother Doug las. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bolman, Independence, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Wor den, one day last week. Weekend visitors at the Worden home were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams of Sutherlin, who were on their way to Wallowa. Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Oveson and five children, Wallowa, visi ted at the home of Oveson's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Black, during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hayes went to Eugene to spend Thanks giving at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beall. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lilly and four children, La Grande, visited at the home of Mrs. Lilly's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely, from Thursday till Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kunze and children Eddie and Elaine, Oth ello, Wash., were Thanksgiving day visitors at the home of Kun ze's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kunze. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allen were in Sunnyside, Wash., from Wed nesday till Friday last week at the home of their son and daughter-in-law,-Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Allen. Vet Conyers returned home Sun day from visiting his son, Ver non Conyers, in Spokane, Wash. The wedding of Miss Carol Ann Hamilton and Larry E. Thorpe will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 8 p. m. at the Community church. Friends are invited to attend. The reception will follow at the grange hall. Thanksgiving day visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Skoubo were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Luhrs and children Terry and Glenda, and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Seeker, Pendleton; Mr. and Mrs. John Luhrs and children Dick, Cary and Joanne, Corvallis. Mr and Mrs. Ralph Skoubo and sons Dick and Bobby spent Thanksgiving with Skoubo's mo ther, Mrs. Anna Skoubo, near Pilot Rock. Dec. 9 A pot luck dinner will be served at the Rebekah hall at 5 p. m. for members of the I. O. O. F. lodge and the Rcbekahs and their families and friends. A good will offering will be given to the I. O. O. F. home in Port land. Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Martin and children spent the holidays with relatives in Roseburg and in West Linn. Mrs. LaVerne Hams and daugh ters recently made a trip to Los Angeles where they spent a week visiting relatives and friends. They also visited Disneyland and Knox Berry farm. Mrs. Mabel Davidson and son Charles, also made a trip to Los Angeles. Mrs. Davidson's sister, Mrs. Sotena Villareal of. Los Angeles, returned to lone with Mrs. Hams for a visit. Thanksgiving guests at the Lloyd Howton home were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Campbell and child ren, Sharon, Dean and Douglas, of Warden, Wash., Lottita Adama and Janet Howton of Pacific Uni versity. Ed Buschke spent the holidays with his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ally Peck at Sclo. Betty Paschke of Forest Grove spent Thanksgiving vacation with Dorothy Dobyns. They are class mates at Pacific University. Mr. and Mrs'. Roy Lieuallen and grandson, Bobby Lee DeSpain, attended the Allstott family re union in Hermiston Thanksgiving day. Thanksgiving guests at the E. M. Baker home were Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Ison and daughters, Mary and Barbara of Milton-Freewater and Duane Baker of Forest Grove.
